Mike Gallagher Calls for 'Muslim-Only' Line on Fox News

Politics – "Most Americans want prejudice. Let’s be prejudiced against those who want to slaughter innocent American men, women and children. It’s time we start exercising some prejudice and stop these bloody terrorists," Gallagher said, this time drawing more robust applause.

Someone should give this "conservative talk show host Gallagher" a few history lessons. What he is proposing has happened--just ask older African Americans. It was called Jim Crow laws. Separate but equal? What an oxymoron. Jim Crow laws were morally & ehticallt wrong and inhumane. Gallagher's proposal falls into the same bigoted approach white America had...how sad people like Gallagher are so driven by hate and fear.

You have got to be kidding me!! What makes this country great - what most thinking people in the world admire and try to emulate - is the United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights. This kind of jingoistic, hate-mongering garbage is exactly the kind of thing that wipes out that admiration and replaces it with disgust and loathing. ALL persons have the right (in this great country) to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, to due process of law and the presumption of innocence until proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt as decided by a jury.

If we as a nation start down the road of curtailing the rights of all members of groups perceived (by whom?) to be a threat, when does it stop? We did it to Japanese-Americans on the West Coast in WWII, and the Supreme Court determined it was a gross violation of the Constitution. We should not let the current wave of anti-foreigner hysteria push this country into another 'mistake' of perhaps even worse consequences.

In addition, Michael Gross got it right (as quoted in the article) when he asked the pointed and practical questions - how does security determine who is Muslim and/or Arab and therefore required to go through the so-called "Muslims-Only" line?

I think anyone who watches faux news, should get a large "L" tattooed on their forehead so we can readily identify their lowered position in our great society.

Furthermore, anyone who voted for bush should be given a black eye. It will heal, but provide them with several weeks of humiliation in our great society.

And lastly, anyone who continues to support bush, should have both their arms amputated - as a preemptive strike to stop them from hurting themselves or others.

And thus our great society will be safe.

I am a muslim and i respect Mr. Gallaghers views if he thinks that a "Muslim Solution" should be in effect he has every right to think so. It will never happen of course. I think Mr. Gallagher just is not informed about ISLAM like many other people are. I issued a CHALLENGE to anyone walking the planet after 9/11 to show me where in the Qur'an(muslim holy book or the FINAL TESTAMENT as some say) where it says to kill innocent women, children,JEWS, CHRISTIANS OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER. An INFIDEL by definition in the QURAN does not mean JEW or Christian or anyone else. An INFIDEL can be ANYONE including a MUSLIM. For example if you blaspheme or treason against GOD then you are an INFIDEL. The word is directed to anyone who disrespects or kills GODS people or desicrates HOLY LAND. Anyway MR. Gallagher needs ratings he has to make a living. He will however NEVER BE ABLE to QUOTE from the QURAN where it says to blow up planes, or suicide bomb ext..he will have to go on.....

(Continued)what hes heard about ISLAM from bias. A MUSLIM only line will only get MUSLIMS on Board LAST if that makes MR. Gallagher safer then sleep well when it happens MR. Gallegher. If you want to make a claim against us as beings TERRORISTS thats fine. But bring forth proof. There are 1.5 billion MUSLIMS if even a 100,000 of us are bad apples doesnt mean we all are. or even a million. we have are bad seeds just like all religions do and even athiets have bad seeds and they dont believe in religion. I say if you want to bash us or start a anti muslim website do it but get the facts on us. Get a copy of the Quran and quote us and expose us so that all the speculation can be out to rest. You are doing an injustice to yourself if you dont get a copy of the QURAN, even if you just want to find fault with it do that but get a copy then make all the charges with your hearts desire. And as for my challenge i stated before email me the verse at aahmad3763@yahoo.com ..peace

Again, this is not a FOX NEWS article. It is a news hound spin of what was said.

I just want to know why such a wacko would be given airtime. This article is a "spin" on what happened just like all news is a spin on what happens. But, the fact is some nutcase radio host really thinks this is a good idea and Fox "News" thinks its a good idea to put him on the air... That seems a little weird to me...

Hey Folks! Speaking of terrorists who kill innocent American men, women and children...Wasn't the Unibomber Theodore Kaczynski a white, caucasian male? Maybe we should make a separate line for them too!

The promised one is right. Muslims can't just go around killing any one they want.

However as he points out infidels are freebies.

Nothing to worry about here folks. Islam is a religion of peace. Except for dar el Harb.

So what we need are an imam to separate the folks into two lines. Real muslims and infidels. If there are only muslims on a given flight there is no danger.

If there are only infidels on a flight no danger.

The solution is simple and obvious.

Hizbollah and Hamas have constructed core ideologies based upon this Islamic theology of Jew hatred, which one can glean readily from their foundational documents, and subsequent pronouncements, made ad nauseum. Hamas further demonstrates openly its adherence to a central motif of Jew-hatred in Muslim eschatology—Article 7 of the Hamas Charter concludes with a verbatim reiteration of the apocalyptic hadith alluded to earlier:

“The Last Hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: `Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him’; but the tree Gharkad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 40, Number 6985).

The Koran is not the problem. It is the Hadiths.

The problem is groups. So long as people think of themselves as a member of a group before a person, groups, not people will argue. I don't like that.

The idea of a Muslim only line is simply wrong and inneffective. This would only give people a false sense of safety and possibly lead to more Muslims turning to radical islam....oh ya one more thing:

And how could we forget Tim McVey?

I monitored Gallaghers show for a few months. He gets his knowledge of Islam from Craig Winn, a leading anti-Islamist who has written several books on Islam including "Prophet of Doom". Mr. Winn views Islam in the worst imaginable light and by osmosis has transferred this view to Mr. Gallagher. Gallagher would be thrilled to see this story get more play. He is a publicity hound. Just a Limbaugh wanna-be (what a pathetic thing to aspire to be) with a smaller audience.

Errr...constitutional rights aside..It is the very freedom that the constituion guarantees to all citizens that is under threat. Martial law sounds punitive, but what do liberal minded folk suggest is done about the problem? The only way to stop mass murder is to stop it! If terroristic plots committed today are commited by men under the guise of Islam (every single time)then regardless of how open minded you are, the first thing that most people on the recieving end of violence and hatred will do is 'classify' the threat. If the threat was from IRA terrorists (every single time) then our attention would be focussed on IRA members, possibly all Irish people. Because the threat posed comes from men under the blanket of Islam(every single time recently). Then our focuss is on Muslims. It is because we know nothing of this religion which is on a whole fundamentally different from anything we know, that we fear 'all muslims' and group them all as one threat.

The people doing harm are of a certain group. You will have a few nuts acting alone or in smaller groups such as the Unibomber and Mcveigh. The group acting now is a rather large group that need to have their action stopped. Now, if I were having a problem with disease carrying roaches, would I get a spray to erradicate them, set it off and leave my plants, cats and dogs in the house while I deal with the problem? Hell no! I would seperate them from the roaches and then I wouldn't have to bury the innocent due to trying to be fair to all living creatures.

You people need to get real. Why do we tolerate these threats when something could be done about it. Surely even the good Muslims should see there needs to be a solution. This could possibly work. Maybe not 100% but oh my god I wouldn't want to offend anyone even if it saved someone's life. Pshw!

Until I see the Muslims protesting against terrorism in mass the same way they promote terrorism in mass, I'm open to just about anything. Personally I think we should put the liberals in a liberal line along with the Muslums and not bother to check their baggage as that would certainly satisfy their complaints about invasion of privacy. Just make sure they all get on the same plane meaning equal justice for all. Not all Muslims are terrorists but, with few exceptions, all terrorists are Muslims.

Any sensible person knows Gallagher's proposal would never work and has all the trappings of what our country is not (supposed to be) about.

Queen's Bishop - Great, thought provoking post!

Of course this idea will never work, even if federal screeners had a crystal ball that can predict Muslims. The goal is to find faults in security; if there is a way to circumvent security, they will find it.

However, this shows that Fox welcomes all points of view in their commentaries no matter how ridiculous. No where else on 24 hour cable news will you find a liberal, a conservative, and a moderate discussing the same issue. As for this argument, you do get both sides of the coin.

Good idea WHampton! Where is the Muslim protest?

I agree with you on QueensBishop's comment FrankieT. And Gallagher's proposal is sensible as it puts the aggressors in a certain place and in a more visible and highlighted area. Certainly you can agree that if you were handed a written page with a small amount highlighted your eyes would go there immediately. Tell me I am wrong. I think not.

Brillian assessment, I think that is a great idea except I don't think you would have any takers to pilot those flights.

Gee lets take another scenario, and lets see what the reaction would be....

Lets say there was an ACLU meeting. And lets say some idiot were to call in a bomb threats. Then by coinsidence a bucnch of red necks show up outside the event, with confederate flags, and pick up trucks. Do you think anyone would have a problem with profiling the hicks? somehow, I think most at the ACLU meeting would feel it justified profiling.

avatar
Reply

All Muslims are not Terrorists but all Terrorists are Muslims in the sence of the War on Terror. Of course someone of another ethnicity could commit a terror act, but policing and security are maters of statistics and probability of a person to commit such a crime. If a profile of and individual (i.e. age, sex, race, religion) is more apt to commit a crime, you segregate that population in order to protect the whole.

This Gallagher person is a major moron, not to mention a racist and a fascist. His co-host really needs to understand that most of the world considers the U.S. to be terrorists, and if you look at history, most of the world is right in that contention.

Thanks! The solution is a simple one, get a Muslum to pilot the plane. The only problem is we couldn't let it in US airspace. I have more brilliant ideas, but I doubt Netscape will allow them.

Let’s say hypothetically, the ACLU had a meeting on an issue where they were actually part of the solution rather than the problem. All the hardcore socialists protested. Would it be okay to profile the socialists?

Not all people that disagree with the ACLU are rednecks.

What planet do you live on. define buzz words "most of the world" Just what part of most of the world are you talking about? Are you going back in time to the stone age or are you referring to NAZI Germany. Well, you may consider most of the world are Muslums so I rest my case. Gallagher is right!

If this ever came to be, well then the terrorist would have succeeded because "America" would be destroyed, in fact if this happened in real life, I personally would feel justified in pursuing non-lethal terroristic actions against what I would see as an imposter goverment. If any of you are familiar with the political philosopers who inspired this country's founders, Locke.. Rosseau ect. you would understand why. Hate, violence, terror comes in all forms regardless of color, ethnicity, age, sex, religion, and if our future "goverment" blatantly fails to recognize that then I would remind them. Is it the fact that it offends people the biggest problem here?, no because we don't seem to have a problem offending the homosexuals(I personally, and so if you said no because you didn't want to offend then you are barely better than those who support in my opinion.

It took this country around a century to prove separate is inherently UNEQUAL, lets not forget that.

I agree, just trying to make a point. I am sure the ACLU members that have such a hard time with "Intellegent police work" also known as profiling, would have no problem with profliling "rednecks" just so long as we leave the "select groups alone".

I wont go so far as to say Gallager is correct, but my guess is he was trying to make a point. If anyone thinks for one second these ratical nutjobs will stop until they have accomplished there mission which is to convert or kill you, me, and eveyone else that does not agree with them, you are sadly mistaken or dilusional. It really is kill or be killed. It is harsh, but if anyone can tell me how my assessment is wrong, please share. Actally I hope someone can give me intellegent feedback, so I can sleep better tonight.

The problem is not with Muslims, the problem is religion in general. As a species we have out grown things like believing that no one can travel faster than the speed of sound, no one can travel to outer space etc. We need to out grow the need to fabricated imaginary friends that keep us in line for fear of headed to a very hot and nasty place. Placing a hippy on a stick above your bed makes you no better a human being than praying to a ghost on a white cloud handing out virgins. It all is as real as Santa Claus or the Easter bunny. If you need religion to teach your children morals, than you should not be a parent.

In short grow up world and give up your imaginary friends, the world will be a better place.

Where I disagree with the sentiment, you actually do make an intresting point. I feel religion can be helpful to help people get through tough times or give people a moral guide, I agree that people killing in the name of religion, or discriminating or anything else is plain nuts. I believe religion may help some people actaully live better lives because of there faith, others do dispicable things in that same name, and that cannot be tollerated, and if that is showing intollerence, than I am intollerant.

People once believed in the gods of Mount Olympus, now we laugh and call it mythology. I can’t wait for a world when we call all religion mythology. But as it was pointed out, the population as a whole is too immature to be able to behave morally with the harsh teachings of war and quest.

It is my thought that religion is not necessarily the problem, it is actually the people that use religion much like a tool, a vehicle persay to help pursue their own agendas and goals, whereas some use religion to bring people together certain others as demonstrated by the moslem extremist use religion to define, isolate, and remove. As a priest or cleric or rabbi you have a good deal of power and control over your audience and otehr members of your specific group. Certain people abuse this power to "brainwash" the easily persuaded ignorant people. To blame religion on all these problems is a fallacy, as demonstrated by all the good that has been achieved by it and by the fact that these people remain a small contingent or a broad group. You look at all the "religous" wars and after careful scrutiny you can see the reasons that lay behind the religous label and understand that it is not religion that is causing the problems, but abuse of power by people.

avatar
Reply

Irish

You provide the excellent example how it is not religion but people that cause the problems, It seems that you do not "belong" as you would put it to a religion of any sort. Here we see that this non-religous person, has directly defined and isolated all religous people into a group, then he proceeds to question the abolishment of religion, "remove", all this to proceed in what he views as the best future for everyone. Irish i could not have asked for a better supporting argument.

Actually as a matter of fact I am not. But I am sure that there hasn't been any amendment that has removed or nullified the second amendment.

And you bring up an interesting point as well, I had no idea the Bible, Quran, or any other religious text was discharged at person leading to severe hemmorage and blood loss that resulted in death. Maybe we should warn the airliners to no longer allow these dangerous weapons on planes or in carry on bags.

As a conservative, I will nevertheless call Mike Gallagher's statements stupid. But then again, I listened to him while he did talk shows here in NYC on WABC radio. He never struck me as the sharpest tool in the shed.

I do worry because there is an increasing number of people who would back Gallagher up on segregating Muslims. But that might partially be due to the political correctness involved whenever the topic of terrorism is brought up. The plain truth of the matter is that the Islamic fascists - (gasp!) - have declared holy war on infidels. And if the attacks reach a tipping point, people will get tired of trying to distinguish between Muslims.

We can't make blanket assumptions about a religion. But we can't pretend that terrorists aren't motivated by religious zeal.
