Aug. 23, 2006, 12:53 p.m.There are hundreds of small victories everyday in Iraq that the media does not cover, this particular instance of a so called media cover up by the writer of this blog is nonsense. The media prefers not to dwell upon positive occurences in Iraq, so why would a positive statement from Bush make the media coverage. Then they would have to explain the hundreds of small victories everyday that occur in Iraq, and frankly that news does not sell papers or air time. As we all know.

Aug. 23, 2006, 4:08 p.m.I really don't care abbout how many unreported small victories they have because they are crushed by the hundred violent deaths a day occuring there. (Fox news) That si the overriding new out od Iraq. Close to a civil war and we call that winning?

Media outlets biased?
The people reporting such news are being honest! I guess I don't understand where you are coming from. Do you think that the good news outweighs the bad? Do you want us all to follow Rush Whinebauge and big head Hannity? Let them go over or have a loved one injured or killed and then talk!!! I listen to the fox stories and laugh. They complain about the libs focusing on one line of a post, but won't admitt that they whiiiiiiine about the exact same type of information. The investigation on treason should not stop at Bush and Cheney and Rowe, it shoould inclued those that lied to the country to enrich themselves.

Aug. 23, 2006, 5:06 p.m.Rush Whinebauge and Hannity should go over and support their great leader!!!! It is easy to say yeah send in the troops when you have never been there! The people I have talked to that came back from Iraq said they did not feel that they should have aver been there and that the the BAD things that are happening far outweight the good and that we should not be there!

Aug. 23, 2006, 5:21 p.m.I guess it's just becasue I'm a liberal, but I read this article... and to me it sounds as if the conservative media is trying to make Bush sound better than he actually did. The edited versions play to those seeking compassion from the president, and omit the stutter he makes. It doesn't play well to the masses to say the president is happy about a war.

You are right on about Rush and Sean. And Bush falls in that hole, or fell in already. Send others to do battle and die but skip out of any action yourself. Then allow you party to attack your opponents war record. A hero who actually did serve.
They tell us how the soldiers ALL know how right it is being there and dying for the Ieaq people's freedom.

Aug. 23, 2006, 5:41 p.m.How can any person be happy about a war if people die everyday from it?
Jesus talks about Loving all people...Where is Jesus in Bush's life???

I thought that you had a little sense. When you say that FOX has a left leaning structure I know that you are full of it!!!! Combs is a lackey to Hannity. And the fact that you know his first name shows that you are one of his sheep. If you don't go to Ruth Crisp or what ever the name is you are not his freind. I keep looking for the head band that is supposed to keep his head from exploding. Let me guess.... you are a Hannity Intern right?

.000001 of a subject doesn't make it true. Hannity and Whinebaugh keep bringing up how the left (liberals) are chomping on their bits to put Bush down. I don't think you have to break a sweat to expose him. He does a real good job on his own. I was in when he went awol and at that time his type was looked down on more than the draft dodgers!

Aug. 23, 2006, 6:28 p.m.Some of you people are idiots. The man simply said he was happy with some of the news coming out of Iraq. Why are you trying to turn a simple and honest statement into something else? I am happy of some of the news coming out of Iraq! I have a daughter there, a United States Marine, and I get news that makes me happy. She is happy to be helping the Iraqi people. She is not happy about the war nor is our president. Get real!
I cannot believe you people are turning your back on our president in our time of need. I don't consider it American to side with the enemy. Well, who knows who some of you are anyway. Might be a terrorist acting like a PO'd American trying to fill someones mind with all the bull crap you can spew.

Aug. 23, 2006, 6:44 p.m.This president turned his back on every man and woman in Viet Nam, led us into a war with lies and I'm not siding with the enemy, just picky about who I support.

With THOUSANDS of Iraqi's dying every month, I'd say 'close to' is long past. This govt. deals in misleading semantics. Iraqi's know better.

Aug. 23, 2006, 8:15 p.m.Something both sides of the aisle need to understand is that ALL MEDIA COVERAGE IS BIAS. As soon as you put a live human being with thoughts, feelings, and emotions on TV screen you will get bias on some level. As soon as you put a picture next to a story, run a video clip, or get an interview, YOU HAVE BIAS.
We as citizens (a more appropriate term would be ants) are yanked back and forth by media outlets whose first concern is Neilsen Ratings and second is a personal or corporate image. Fox yanks to the right, CNN yanks to the left, and we're in the middle with busted arm sockets and headaches.
I wish it were different, honest, I do. But this is what we have and it won't change. Want to know why? Because yapping on a message board is the closest thing to corrective action any of us will ever take (myself included, I gave up long ago).

Aug. 23, 2006, 8:25 p.m.The truth is in order to get the whole story you have to look at about 5 different news stations. Although I do not fully agree with the reasons for our involvement in Iraq progress must be made there in order to insure our safty from the many enemies we created upon invasion. We must also help the people back on their feet. Many of them do not like us and some do but what we started must be finished in order to bring home our troops and keep them here until the security of our nation is truly threatened.

Aug. 23, 2006, 9:15 p.m.You have to look over Dav and his theories. He hasn't gotten out of high school yet. But he knows exactly how much time he catches FOX. I hear Whinebauge and Hannity more going to the store. Hannity is a good gauge of how worried the right is at any particular time.
Dav: I bet you get excited seeing Ann Coulter's *****!
Sorry everyone, I get edgy when I read stupid ****.

Since when is being critical of the actions of our leaders "siding with the enemy?" Since when is debating the values and judgments of those in charge a treasonous act? And it is so time-consuming to try to find information that is fairly complete on an event or an issue from the media. As VCN implied, it makes those of us who want to think for ourselves give up.
I guess I could have done what the rest did and ignored your comment. But I like hitting my head up against brick walls.

You said it, man. This president not only turned his back on every man and woman in Viuetnam, he turned his back on every man and woman in the United States with his lies. If he lies about one thing he'll lie about anything. And if he believes this war is a nobel act, why aren't his two drunk daughters in uniform. At least they'll get free beer in the Army.
