Excellent (albeit unrelated) Matthew Lauer interview with The President at this same SITE posting. Although the video is of a different topic, most of the political lines drawn will cause the same camps to react in the same ways. It's the right vs. the left here once again on Netscape. Enjoy!

P.S. Although the title is an inference of Rosie's statement, the blog does quote Rosie quite properly. I personally saw the "Hot Topics" comment live. I will look for more source material and post it here if I find it as a back up for those who don't believe me.

Radical Christianity is much more of a threat here in the US then the Islamism terrorist over seas because these radical Christians are in power and are cutting the constitution into pieces bit by bit. I think calling them Christian is really a misrepresentation of who, what, they really are.

Excuse me what radical christians do what! The most radical christians has done and its been years is burn abortion clininc and attack the doctors who work there. Just because Rosie says things doesn't make them true and honest, only her opinion! Your everyday christians are the ones who were there in every state of union taking care of the Katrina victims. I do not claim a brand of christianity but I AM Christian! Nor do I go to another country and blow up people because they do not believe in Jesus. Christians cannot even have prayer in school not even Christmas symbols at our courthouse!GOD BLESS

I was just told by a "christian" that homosexuals are the same as terrorists and criminals. I guess Christians don't like being told that they are terrorists and criminals as much as I don't.

Anyone can take any belief, distort it, and use it as a political platform to pursue a terrorism agenda. Anyone who doubts this has little graspp of history and the proclivities of humakind.

Perhaps she is referring to the folks who kill doctors who perform abortions?

At the end she says Iraq never threatened to kill us... I'm pretty sure that Saddam did want to kill us. What she probably meant was they were not a real threat to us.

Christians like Muslins are not the ones creating all the horror around the world. It is the extreme faction of these folk that cause all the problems. The extremes either right or left are wrong and only want everyone to do what the want or be elimanated.

Rosie's life style is not supported by Christians so in her mind they are terrorists. We know by her actions that she does what she wants and wants other folk to do as she says.

But, that is what this country is all about - Freedom of Speech (with limitations, fire etc.)

What creates additional problems is that folk believe or take what folk like Rosie says as the truth.

Support our fighting forces and those that support them.

So . . . are you suggesting that this is somehow okay?

The purpose of terrorists is to cause terror. The purpose of radical right wing christians who bomb clinics and attack doctors is to terrorize the people who work there, or the people who choose to go there.

Seems like a pretty apt comparison to me.

markjseydel, you gave us a brief glimpse of your book in another thread. Isn't that the same book that instructs Christians to kill all infidels?

I live in a community which is largely Christian, although we have a small synagogue, a mosque, a Mormon congregation, and a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. The people are uniformly friendly and entirely non-threatening. Many who live here have never locked a door. I suspect that there are very few terrorists among them.

So it seems that my experience differs from that of Rosie O'Donnell, markjseydel, and a few others here. I wonder where they studied comparative religion?

its fine when people use religion as a set of morals and try to be nice people but as soon as "jesus is the way, the truth, and the light" its pretty much like muslims calling us infidels for "rejecting" allah.... and seriously homophobes need to get over themselves.

The Lord said to turn the other cheek, not to judge, and to help your neighbor.

Obviously some people don't understand that the religious right is not about Christianity at all. If they do, then they have forgotten that a camel gets through the eye of a needle easier than wealthy enter heaven.

Christianity, as salvation for all people, will go on long after America is discussed as a memory. Real Christians understand this, and do not dabble in contentious debates on issues that are essentially passing judgement.

Beware of wolves in sheeps clothing. Violence is wrong. While many things are immoral, Christians are not here to judge. Christianity is about mercy. Everyone has a conscience, we don't need to alienate them by imposing ours on them. The separation of church and state is imperative for the survival of our union.

What's funny though is that Rosie doesn't criticize the poverty in this police state, and how rich people like herself have so much compared to some.
