One thing that I *don't* like about Guiliani (I did like his actions after 9-11 and most of his anti-crime initiatives) is the way he becomes a bit of a police of everything. He was very anti-the arts for several years there and made several of my artist friends in the city unhappy. I wouldn't want him as President.

There's no way he wins a Republican primary with his stances on gay marriage and abortion. Heck, the Bush camp ripped John McCain to shreds 8 years ago, and Rudy has even more bigger targets to shoot at.

I am all for him running, I will need to hear more from him on some issues. As far as the Art thing, anti-government funding for art, is not being anti-art.

If he wins in 2008 I am moving to Europe - I will not live in a police state; always watching for the gestapo.

I am completely for Giuliani running for president. Why do people keep bringing up 9/11 and blaming every single person that was remotely involved? If people are so mad about the terror attacks than why do they not stand for fighting terrorists? Must I remind people that Giuliani was considered a hero after 9/11 and cracked down hard on crime in NYC? I would certainly vote for him reguardless of political party. RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!

By the way Hillary Clinton is evil and extreemly annoying should she become President it would probably sound the end of civilization

No politician can be everything to everyone. I voted for Bush 2 times and I dislike some things he's done, such as his lack of action on the border and the run away spending.

Though Rudy is a moderate, he seems to be more right of Bush in many ways. I like the Idea of him running, the right needs a few fresh Ideas.

After he admiited in public to abusing his wife, I think he probably could "Beat Hillary in 2008"

The far right likes a man who puts wimmin in their place.

I just don't know if he's got enough "moxie", "chutzpah", or, ahem, "staying power" to keep a rigid and erect, uh, campaign going that long. In his case Viagra cannot help.

It's like he's "missing something". More than Dole was.

Isnt he extremely anti-gun? If Im not mistaken he created some of the toughest firearms laws in the country. I find the second amendment to be very important and if he was responsiible for attacks upon it I would be very upset with him as president.

Il Duce (or rather, Ill Duce) can quench the Repugnant thirst for fascism like few others. They'll overlook his many faults just to embrace their beloved fascist dystopia.

Btw, to BurningFire - it's fairly obvious that Ill Duce had an inside track on what was going down that fateful day. He was very uncomfortable at the 9/11 hearings and departed rather hastily after his canned testimony. Despite 9/11 victims shouting questions in the hearing room (questions that were supplied to the Commission but were never asked, let alone answered), Rudy never had anything to say. It's always the same b.s. with him.

luvmyprez:Unless something major occurs, Guiliani is slated to be the next pres. and as for backing, the AIPAC has already stated that he is their choice to follow Bush. Thus, he will get elected cause AIPAC wants him. That cannot be good for this country. You would think people might remember the speedy clean-up or cover up, of 911, that he performed with the skill of a surgeon. He promptly had all the steel removed and shipped to india and china for melting. How noble of him, to rid us of all that nasty evidence. This guy is worse than Bush because he's not nearly as dumb as Bush is. Christ, I hope Obama runs a good race. All we need to get a democrat elected, is to have a half human candidate, and not many qualify on that scale. That's it. I'm moving to Canada. PS. Some kid called general patton was being pretty harsh toward you on another thread, a minute ago, but I stood up fer ya. My butt.

overall, I think rudy running is a good thing.

the 2nd amendment stuff is disturbing, but just as Bush could not undo abortion rights, Guiliani won't make significant headway undoing the right to bear arms.

Regardless of all the dictatorship, fascist, geatapo rhetoric, the extremes make a lot of noise, but the center (generally) prevails.

Wow! It's amazing how the suggestion of his possible running can draw out all the hate-mongers, conspiracy nuts, and all the anti-U.S.-"U.S. is evil" freaks. If that's the best kind of "constructive critisism" that the other side of the fence can bring forward, then I back him all the way!

Yeah that would be great to put a man partially responsible for letting 3000 people die in the trade centers into the oval office. He's already groomed to be a skilled murderer for wealthy people's gain. And why does he need to apply for fundraising? Ask him where all the gold is from the vaults under the trade center. He must have made at least 1% of the $1 Billion missing. That should be plenty of funds Rudy, no need to stick your hand out.

Replace evil with evil. Good idea.

I know the truth about 9/11 is an extremely painful thing to accept. But, there is no scientific explanation for the collapse WTC7, there is an "official explanation", but it doesn't hold water. A steel framed building would never and has never collapsed due to fire alone, let alone one as small as the fire in WTC7. WTC7 was a fortress, it wouldn't just crumble like that. Any physicist with a backbone would agree. Seriously, calling all physicists, reply, explain it to me, enlighten me. Explain how small fires that never exceed 2000F melt structural steel. Send me links, back it up. I would love to be wrong about this.

Wrong...speculation on the racist vote so far is that it isn't big enough to defeat Obama. He's our man and he can win. That's why we'll make him our candidate. Things have changed in a big way with this last election, a much bigger way than most Republicans care to acknowledge. The right wing of the Republican Party went down in total disgrace. They won't recover from it in years. I think your best bet is Rudy. America made it clear they can't stomach Republican BS any longer. Issues like gay marriage don't mean diddly, no matter what they said at the state level. The Democrats might favor such things because it's simply part of human rights to them, but they're not going to sink themselves over it. Republicans are going to have to move toward the center to have any chance at all, but they're badly smeared by the far right who won't shut up and will damage Rudy. He'll lose, and no way is it too soon for Obama.
