Se. Chuck Hagel - Bush Wanted War in the Entire Middle East »

It wasn't specific to Iraq? Oh no. It said the whole region! They could go into Greece or anywhere. I mean, is Central Asia in the region? I suppose! Sure as hell it was clear they meant the whole Middle East. It was anything they wanted. It was literally anything. No boundaries. No restrictions.

It's coming out now because a bunch of people who sided along Bush at the beginning while knowing about about his evil plan now are leaving him for political reasons. I think they will all burn in hell as well as their chief.

Did you even read the article - I didn't think so. The part I was commenting on was the fact that Bush initially sought the authority to go anywhere in the ME and do just about anything his little heart desired. This wasn't just about the Iraq resolution but what Bush sent to the Senate immediately before!

He is working for the DEMS...idiots he is covering his ass. He knows once the investigations start we are going to find that these guys were nothing more than CROOKS disregarding our constitution with contempt and scorn. I am now starting to wonder if they let 9/11 happen or even planned it like Bin Laden said. How can you believe anything they say now? The fools on the right thought we were all nuts, well who is nuts now?

It doesn't make me trust his motives, but it's still nice to see.

It's only coming out now because Chuck Hagel is a moonbat! Bush has consistently told us that Iraq is only one "theater" on the war on terror. It's part of the strategy to fight Islamofacism wherever it is.

I think old Chuck Hagel is from Nebraska. I'd be willing to bet they're wanting to give him the heave ho about right now. I think Hagel been smoking some of those cornstocks full of wild growing hemp?
We're in a fight with evil now, not just in Iraq or Afghanistan, but add Iran and possibly Syria. This didn't start on 9/11 but a number of years before that. Back up to Bierut, Lockerbee, USS Cole, our Embassies, and Iran while Jimmy Carter was President. Each kept passing the buck. I think the buck stops on this generation. It's time to exterminate the rattlesnakes and replace them with bullsnakes, a snake you actually can live with peaceably.

I'm amazed that conservatives some how continue to cling to the belief that an Administration made up of Bush, Cheney and others who found a way to avoid service when it was their turn to be on the front line have the moral character or understanding of military and diplomatic theory to guide the US through any reasonable foreign policy , let alone a war. They have shown nothing but disdain for the concept of service ever since they started dodging service in their college years.

The Project For a New American Century planned all of this, they presented the plan for the Iraq war and a total take over of the Middle East to Clinton. Who is PNAC, it would be easier to answer who isn't.
William Krystol editor for the Weekly Standard braged about the PNAC's power, on Night Line three days before the Iraq war.

Searunner - I remember this when Bush first sent the Resolution down to Congress. A few clear-thinkers caught it, and returned it to him, insisting he limit it to Iraq.
Perhaps it was lost on everyone in the jingoistic fervor of the time. It was just one more tip-off of where this nut-case was going...

Because people are finally starting to ask the hard questions about why we went into Iraq in the first place? Does this mean that more of Congress is going to say that they were lied to by the Executive Branch? At least Hagel takes responsibility for not doing better to speak up against it right? You are forgiven Chuckie...I'm sure your constituents will re-elect you for your honesty....Now get back to work and help make this country a better place to live for every one.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER - IT WAS A COVERT PLAN
Bob Woodward's "State of Denial" should be renamed - "Lying in State".

"So to answer your question-Do I regret that vote? Yes, I do regret that vote."
Because now the republicans don't control everything and they have to be more open with the american people for fear of loosing their jobs in 2 years.
The Administration had a chocke hold on information about everything. They have made everything a seceret down to how much toilet paper they use. Everything gets classified that way they don't have to worry about embarrasing things getting by them. It is a shame when the government gets so secret that those around the government are afraid to talk.

Saw it too and now read the whole thing. I think Sen. Kennedy is trying to have some type of resolution that states that the president cannot attack Iran without Congressional approval. As if that will fly or that the President would abide by it. The president is already conducting a war in a way that most don't approve of and he knows it and cares less.

Hagel wants to be President. I ask him, what would he fight for? How much death, and destruction on American soil would it take to convince him to defend this country. Bin Laden was right. We have no spine. We don't have the strength to see Iraq through to Victory. Democrats will not be satisfied until we surrender. Then What, Ms Pelosi? Mr Reid? You are multimillionaires. The Islamofascists will love you. It is the rest of us that will be donning berqas, and praying to Allah five times a day.

"Hagel wants to be President."
Are you a mind reader also? The reason I ask is Senator Hagel
has not announced that he is going to run for president.
And what f@@K is a "Islamofascist" Oh I forgot you watch Fox news don't you?

Good post Sea - this Conservative still hasn't been able to get an answer back from these "Neocons" just why our concentration isn't on protecting our borders yet. I also want to know why they aren't in Iraq. If they want this "war" so badly, they should be over there. Replace some of the troops with them, and bring our soldiers back to protect the Good Ole USA.

anickly - Don't listen to Democrats if its easier for you -listen to the Republicans that are falling out of the neo line weekly. Bush probably does not know anything Bin Laden may or may not have said- remember what Bush said "I dont know where Bin Laden is,I don't think about him" Wasen't it Bin Laden that carried out the attack on 9-11? I felt so much safer with Clinton in office, there was no attack on American soil for 8 years.

((with Clinton in office, there was no attack on American soil for 8 years.))
And some people were actually caught and convicted for the one attack on the US mainland in 1993.
Bush will never equal the Clinton record for lack of attacks on the US mainland. He'll be out of office before he gets the chance, thankfully.

No attack while Clinton was in office? Hello? The World Trade Center? 1993? Remember that little event? A bomb went off in the parking garage? Hello?

Hagel is a combat vet. He has already fought for you. I agree with searunner - if you're that hot to see Iraq "through to Victory" (whatever the hell that means), go get some combat experience of your own, or you can continue to be a modern version of chicken little shouting "the berqas are coming! the berqas are coming!"

Republicans are so good at reverse logic. In psychological tests if it shows up consistently, as with Republicans and conservatives in this country, it scores for psychosis. Anickly, your comments above are founded on reverse logic. Please go study and figure out what I'm talking about.
