McCain is finished. He's a panderer. It's gonna be Rudy or Newt Gingrich if he tosses his hat in the ring.

Agree. He can't come down firmly on one side or the other. He is a better Senator that he would be a president.

please let it be newt, please let it be newt, please let it be newt....
the coalition newt helped create to dominate congress for over a decade no longer exists. the war and other mis-steps (thats putting it kindly) have destroyed it, and newt no longer has ANY credibility. he persecuted clinton for an affair while having one himself at the same time, then has the nerve to say "im not a hypocrite." you have GOT to be kidding me! LMMFAO
oh god, please let it be newt, please let it be newt
you are correct about mccain though, he has NO chance of winning. no republican does in 08

Curiosity? Does anyone think that John McCain, while a panderer and a joke now, would return to his old self ... definitive, independant, conservatively non-partisan ... if he were in the executive office without a conservative base or an electorate to answer to?
I'm not supporting the guy... its a shame what he's become... i'm saying for the sake of argument, does anyone else think he might turn back into his old self when given an office that demands great leadership?

I agree. This should not matter at all. Let anyone who wants to join and fight on our side do so....

Eric Alva, a USMC staff sargeant, lost his right leg in Iraq when he stepped on a land mine. An exemplary member of our Armed Forces, he went into Iraq with the intention of protecting his country. Meanwhile, within his country, are jerks who would deny him his rights because he is homosexual. Personally, I'm fed up with the ugly scum that hasn't the moral mandate to judge anyone....ANYONE!
800 specialists, including 323 linguists, were fired from the Iraq military because they were 'gay,' leaving our troops disadvantaged in a country where they don't speak the language. The cockeyed conservatism that is permeating this nation was born in the sewers. I suggest that the immorality of this conservatism should be sent into the closet. THEY are the one's who should feel shame & be under a 'don't ask don't tell' policy.

McCain is a has been and irrelevent. As a past staunch supporter of his I must have had an inane moment.
With his hawkish attitude and with the continued belief the SURGE will work, he is definitely out of step with reality.
Most Amricans see it but McCain still perceives the war as a correct Amrican decision. Someone should ask him about the faulty intel and WMDs that were wrong. If wrong, then the war was an anomoly for America. We were the aggressor.

Actually I saw a story yesterday that reported an decrease in violence in bagdahd (How ever you spell it)and the capture of a leading islamic nut job and the president of iraq going out of the green zone to talk to his people on the street.
I tried to post it here but libscape wouldn't let me. Yesterday I saw a story on msnbc Talking about Brian williams in Iraq reporting good news for a change. But you and the other lib wackos here don't want any of that. All you post is the negative stuff. You are all nuts. Come 2008 We will see what happens But I doubt Hillary gets tha job. So then we'll have to listen to more whineing from you nuts. Replace your tin fiol hat.

McCain is toast. There was a time when McCain was a man of conviction. But when he smelled the presidency and ventured into Falwell territory, he was finished. He doedsn't seem to realize that Falwell is fat, sweaty wind-bag who no longer has the clout he once did. It's a shame. McCain was once an honorable man.

I hope Newt runs, then you will see all the dirt come flying out of his closet. He is a hypocrit. He went after Clinton for lying about having sex when he himself was having an extramarital affair. I agree that Clinton did lie under oath and Newt wasn't under oath, but he blasted Clinton about the affair as a morals issue. What moral does Newt have.

Forget the Don't ask, Don't tell scenario! If they want to join the military, so be it. They can fight as well as the next person.

The wepucks have as much chance of winning the election as Bin Laden would.
They will have to figure a way to rig the system if they want to win.
Nothing new here-they are experts.

People enlist in the military knowing their lives are at risk and they can't deal with someone being gay? Discrimination is discrimination and for no reason.

I say allow them in the military, good soldiers are in short supply, one reason they're letting felons in.
