Politics – The Bush administration's accusation that Iran is building nuclear weapons is a smoke screen. This well researched article proves that the real Bush administration agenda centres on stealing Iran and Iraq's oil wealth.
By the recent vote to withdraw troops from Iraq, it looks like Bush's money can't buy him everything. With a withering support base at home and ability to get changes through congress, this has to hurt Bush's, Rice and Cheney's credentials abroad. So their punch at the U.N. must be waning with it. Am I being naive?
Yes Iran does want negotiation. Not sure that the hostage taking is a call for negotiation. Iran took British military hostages a few years back. They messed up that time by parading them blindfold through the streets and forced them to make a public apology on Iranian TV. Looks like they've learned from this mistake. Iran could play this to their advantage, by being reasonable in negotiations and releasing the detainees. This would get some people talking about how reasonable Iran acted, rather than whether they were developing nuclear weapons. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
Albmore, you definately don't know how the Iranian government functions. The little dude can say what he wants until he's blue in the face. He really doesn't have half as much power that you think he does. Now, if the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said things like he did then I would worry

Loved the parody toon. Bush doesn't have the U.S. financial backing to go to war with Iran. With Russia watering down sanctions, there's no way Europe are going to foot the bill for another war, especially with their financial interests being hurt. I just can't see a way for Bush to declare war on Iran. It's game over.
11Heather,
I hope you're right, but the saber rattling in the Persian Gulf makes me really nervous.
