Impeachment, Like Spring, is in the Air »
Posted by: gatitabonitasen 1 year, 5 months agoIt's time for impeachment to come out of the deep freeze. For a year now, Democratic leaders like Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), Rep. Nancy Pelosi D-CA), Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and DNC head Howard Dean have been working to tamp down the pressures to hold the president accountable for his crimes and abuses of power by way of impeachment. House Spea

"There has not been a scientific poll asking about impeachment sentiment since last October, when Newsweek Magazine published a poll showing that an astonishing 51 percent of Americans favored impeachment-half of those people even saying it should be a priority for Congress."...
If that was before the current torrent of crap started, I believe that the Americans favoring impeachment must be at 60% by now.
If they are guilty, they are guilty, if not they are innocent. Let's do it. What have we got to lose?

Hey, hey, Happy hour.
Democrats don't have the power!!
You need 290 yes votes in the House of Representives to Impeach a President. Democrats have 230 votes, 44 of which are Blue dogs. They mostly vote with the Republicans. Plus, for all the Democrat ranting, and raving they do not have Articles of Impeachment. Even if 99% of Americans said Impeach. They don't have the political power to carry it off.

And after impeachment and conviction, I believe the guilty should be held to the same letter of the law that bush himself used as governor. Anything less would be unfair, right?

Impeachment now is very feasable. Bush should not look to his constigency for support because Republicans that seek to further their political careers will vote in favor of impeachment. Personal gain always comes before the party!

How is that impeachment coming? Liberals have been talking about it for 6 years, and they just can't seem to get their act together. It is not easy to impeach a President. He has to do something real stupid, like lie under oath in a court of law. Lying is fine, it is that under oath part that gets you impeached. Politics only count if you are right. No Republican will vote to impeach a Republican President who is not guilty of anything except not being a Dirty Democrat.

How many republicans would be willing to lose their gravy train over defending an indefensible despot?

Democrats cannot get a non binding vote of no confidence bill passed. How could they pass Impeachment? It is the Bush bashers pipedream. They will still be singing their sad song in January 09 when the next Republican President is sworn in.
