Posted by: bubba2 1 year, 4 months agoThe White House says it has mishandled Republican Party-sponsored e-mail accounts used by presidential aides, resulting in the loss of an undetermined number of e-mails concerning official White House business. Democrats have been asking if White House officials are purposely using non-governmental accounts to get around a law requiring preservatio

Shades of Rose Mary Woods.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Mary_Woods
Strange how Karl Rove used his non-White House RNC e-mail account for 95% of his correspondence, and yet only HIS e-mails from 2004 to 2005 got mysteriously deleted. For goodness sake, Rose Mary Woods only dumped 18-1/2 minutes of White House records.
And since that Watergate debacle, in 1978 The Presidential Records Act was put in place requiring the preservation of all White House documents and correspondence. http://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/...
But what is that to a President who has Signing Statements to rewrite the law and the Constitution? They work ex-post-facto. A signing statement tacked onto the next bill Bush doesn't veto should take care of everything.

If it occurred illegally in voliation of the records act...are you saying you condone illegal activities? Does not the rule of law take precedence over partisan politics? If you don't believe this...then how can you consider yourself a US Citizen who believes in Constitutional Law?

I loved how the reaction was exactly the same on both sides of the aisle after he nominated her. Usually both sides have their pre-made speeches and just insert the name where it belongs. When he announced her name, both sides said who???

What continues to amaze me is these fools who continue to support these actions, (are you listening onememphisdude?) are so stupid that they don't realize that by doing this, they are giving a green light to the next administration, whether democrat or republican, to go just as far off course as this one has gone. To be just as crooked, to be just as evil. The next administration will be worse than this one, I assure you! And the blame lies solely in the laps of those who are allowing this administration to get away with such corruption.
Those who are too cowardly to impeach are the true enemy!

If Bush and his gang of thugs are not impeached, you are EXACTLY right. They lust for power and wealth will just continue to drive successive administrations further till they are either stopped or all the freedoms we have poured out our blood to win are gone.

You are too right ADAGUY.
That is one thing that just does not seem to penetrate the thick skulls of most Bush apologists; one day there is going to be someone not of the Republican party in the White House. When that day comes and you see how that new president abuses the powers that Bush's precedent established, you will all rue the day you ever decided to vote that Shrub into office.

I wonder where all those right wing legal experts are who were quoting us the Logan Act scripture and verse in regards to Pelosi's Syrian trip. Maybe they can quote us the specifics of the Presidential Records Act also?

an unending pattern of incompetence pervades everything this administration does. It was clear they can't handle planning a war or the civil affairs and 'nation building' activities that should have been performed by the State Department...now it appears they can't even manage to use email correctly...lol.

Can we intercept Le Shrub and his merry myopic mob of moronic misanthropic masturbating mystery monkey men before they flee the country???
Item: the Bushes own a luxury compound in South America...where there is NO extradition...
Item: D!ckhead Chensaws company is moving to Dubai in the UAE,
Again, no extradition. THIS is a major security breach, as they still have thier US military contracts!!!
Who's got a rope???

It will be fine - when the Bushies all flee to Paraguay, it will just make it all the easier to send a Delta Force team to
execute the death sentences they will recieve at their trials (in absentia, of course!).

No, lets be honest here. It doesn't REALLY prove anything, it just STRONGLY suggests that the firings were political. The actual PROOF will be in the text of those missing communications.
Semantics, I know, but I still feel its an important point. Everyone, even this administration, is innocent until proven guilty in this country. Or at least that's the way it should be.

Ahaaaa... and I thought Rosemary Woods went to a quiet (if not ignominious) grave. Guess she hit that stenographer's pedal again--from the Way-Beyond (comprehension).
Just wondering, did anyone here vote for President Rove-Nixon.. errhh, I mean Bush-Rove ticket??? LOL! Too sad.

Republicans have a tendency to lose records. Personally I would rather have a President having his needs taken care of by a young women then squandering time thinking of ways to lose tapes and records. Nixon now Bush, is this the moral authority acts of a conservative?

By the way, Bush aologists. It was very improper to use 'underground' email accounts to conduct US government business. That shows a DELIBERATE pattern of politicizing the AGs office and DELIBERATELY hiding and destroying official government business.
This bunch make the Nixon White House look like choir boys.

Which just make you wonder, who the hell are these 36% or so of Americans who still, STILL, support that idiot? What the f@#k are these people smoking? Do they not have eyes and ears to hear all of the crap these thugs are doing? How can you possibly support this man?
Honestly, I just don't freaking get it.

"And this is all because some people think they have a right to view private e-mails or speculate as to what was in e-mails they have never seen. This is not about curruption, it is how stupid stories start and the stupid people believe them."
When it comes to the White House, there is no such thing as private e-mails (at least not when it is job related). The Congress DOES have the right to view any and all communications of the President dealing with his staff and his departments, under federal law (as does any private citizen). It's called the Presidential Records Act. Look it up.

The Repugnants are entirely partisan: they ran the WH through RNC channels. They defrauded the American people through RNC channels and now they conveniently "lost" all the RNC email covering their duplicitous, larcenous and treasonous activities.

"Which e-mail was job related?"
Any and all correspondance between the White House and any of the Executive Branch departments and agencies would be considered "job related", including correspondance with the Justice Department.
"And if Congress could read any and all corespondense, our security be compromised. I'm glad they can't."
Are you not aware that Congressmen in both the House and Senate are given security clearances just like those given to high-ranking members of the White House? The Senate Armed Services Committee, for example, or the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, all have the same clearance as the President.
"Read the law. It written long before Al Gore invented the internet and e-mail"
I have. You may want to read up on it yourself. It's called the Presidential Records Act. The Freedom of Information Act also applies. Again, look it up.
