Politics – The cultists who support this National ID card say that it's all voluntary. And it is. You can refuse to comply, in which case you won't be able to open a bank account, enter a federal building, ride a plane or train, etc. Yes, quite voluntary. A nice card, containing all sorts of sensitive information, which can be scanned everywhere you go.

This is how the New World Order wants to keep track of all of it's possessions. That includes us. We will be reduced to nothing more than chattle when this ID card scam is implemented.
well i think people have already been reduced to less than human by governments all through history. this just seems to be more formalized...
white pawn:
To paraphrase a line from Minority Report who is keeping track, watch, holding accountable those who have our information?
I heard an ad on the radio this week for Medica Insurance touting the benefits of it's customers seeing their accounts online.
Every time this trade-freedoms-for-security subject comes up now, my response is the same.
I recently did some research on the internet to determine the threat level posed by terrorists versus the threat posed by ones own government over the past 100 years. The results are eye-opening.
Governments have killed over 100 million of their own citizens over the past 100 years. In the same time, terrorists have killed something like 10,000. Which says that your own government is 10,000 times as dangerous as Islamo-Fascits or whatever the latest buzz word for hate-groups might be.
great point. there's a book out there that i recommend "death by government"

We need to dump the phrase "trading freedom for security" and replace it with "trading freedom for stupidity" as that is more accurate.
right, because they never really make us secure!
Also, what is their definition of security? Is it keeping track of tree-huggers, whistle-blowers, peace activists, states' rights advocates, members of certain religions, etc. so that order is maintained?
Not only do the winners write history but they define our words too.
So true, and the winners define what constitutes the "enemy". Personally, I'm going to get a secret chip implant so I can be tracked wherever I go in case the "enemy" gets a hold of me. That will really make me feel secure!
Make sure it's a dual-processor.... %^} Just don't tell "the enemy", or they'll dismantle you, priate the chip, and raise billions to fight their "enemy". And be sure that all of your Netscape friends are imbedded so we feel safe too!
I am going to develop an anti RFID chip to scramble the signal.
Like a numbskull DemLib could ever do that.....LMAO...you would not have a clue where to start....
It would not be too difficult if you had access to the right gear.
A very small EMP shoud wipe it right out.
Magnet work on almost anything with a stripe. RFID can be masked or easily destroyed. Very lame and simple to defeat.
Even Rushbo knows that!!
I think illegal aliens should be first in line!
Excellent observation.
Nice job libssuck! These people are insane. The only things that will be hurt by this are, kids who want fake id's, illegal aliens, and criminals. I guess that's why dems are so against it huh?
tanglang: DemLibs are against it because they will lose several million illegal voters(at least a million in Ca) and the illegal aliens now working for them and their companies will not be able to work and may even have to leave......
UHHHHHH????!!!!!???? I just don't see how you can be blind to this? Of course the bad guys don't want an ID that can be tracked from a passing cop car. captain obvious.
these cards will have chips in them. I can walk by you and using an RFID reader, steal your identity on your way to work and by the time you get home; I've stolen all your money; opened credit and mortgage lines in your name; maybe I just plan on finding out where you live and robbing you. "It takes and AVERAGE of 600 hours to fix something like that." A quote from my Citizen's bank manager. FEELING SAFER??? FEELING SECURE?!?!
So, for your information, this ID sets you up for EXTREME vulnerability. From criminals first and the government second.
not to mention it's going to cost money and all you have to do is say no. and get everyone you know to say no to it.
They are LYING. WHY?? Because the shorter the leash, the easier you can control the F**King dog!!
LAND OF THE FREE MY @SS!!
RFID readers for this are are fairly large and require external antennas and they are required to be connected to a PC to work and an external power supply....they use a lot of current....all of the data is encrypted........for your information, it is almost impossible to steal any data from these RFID systems.....
yeah and I could park a car at a corner in downtown and run it from the front seat. way to stump me.
a magnetic stripe reader used to be attached to the terminals at the store and now I can buy a handheld one that i could slip in my pocket. and it's still more secure than RFID. There is no such thing as unbreakable encryption. It CAN'T exist.
You're only think one step ahead. trying thinking three steps ahead.
the tech may be cumbersome and unavailable today, but what about tomorrow or next year? nothing is totally secure and the less info we have in databases about us the more free we are!
the only people that should be in government databases are government personel and criminals.
Actually the RFID system is much safer than the magnetic strip....I have thought way ahead and there is no way that anyone can have all of the technology necessary to be able to steal info from the RFID tags on the passports....
King of PO OP you are an idiot. RFID cards are very easy to read with a PDA, thats what they are made for. An antenna smaller than a deck of cards is used as the reader. Check Ebay.
Gee I guess Sadam was really busy killing to crank the numbers so high.
The article only speeks of a few Republicans that opposed it, funny it didn't talk about all the democrats that voted for it.
right, it's definitely a left-wing big government program.
Maybe that's why it mentioned (with some suprise) the limited republican opposition.
I'm sick of all these big-government politicians. especially the so-called conservatives!
"Governments have killed over 100 million of their own citizens in the past 100 years". This is true but you may want to qualify this statement. Totatitarian governments, particularily those of the communist persuasion have killed 100 million of their own citizens. The same liberals who are strongly opposed to a national ID card, also are in favor of abolishing our 2nd amendment right to bear arms. Almost every single one of those 100 million killed by their own governments were first disarmed through "gun control". An ID card is not a perfect solution but it would help monitor who belongs in our country and who doesn't. It's not as if they are planting a microchip under our skin, although with the rate that liberals are swallowing up all of our other constitutional rights, that might not be far off.
I agree it is not so far off. After the id cards than you can say it will be the world.
ETproductions: Governments have killed over 100 million of their own citizens over the past 100 years.
Technically that should be Leftwing, Socialist, Communist, Marxist, Liberal Governments have killed over 100 million of their own citizens over the past 100 years.........usually after imposing gun control.....
KingOfTruthiness, Adolph Hitler is up there with Stalin at the head of the list. Not a Leftwing, Socialist, Communist, Marxist, Liberal Governments. Saddam's in there too, and he was no Communist. Governments run amok because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It has NOTHING to do with their being leftist or rightist.
You start and end your list with Leftwing and Liberal. That's an outright lie, not even close to an exaggeration or a stretch. Name the liberal government that contributed heavily to that total of 100 million. You can't! Because it never happened.
Actually Hitler was a National Socialist.....a socialist leftwinger despite the lies of the US left...Safe in the bosom of capitalist democracies, they attack their protector, and praise foreign tyrannies, without fear of consequences. But their ideas do have consequences. Western leftist intellectuals have spread endless misery to the third world, leading to the death of millions.
..all of these Leftwing, Socialist, Communist, Marxist, are tied to the current meaning of a liberal government....liberals are disgusted by the West (especially leadership and front-line countries like America and Israel), does not admire it, mocks its leaders, spits on its military and on any soldier fool enough to die for it, and in general (whether he likes it or not) gives support and encouragement to the barbarians outside the gates who wish to destroy the West and everything we love.
In the 20th century, 100 million people were killed for the dream of a new leftist socialist society, and the killing continues today. 2 billion more lives were ruined through state-caused poverty, famine and emigration. 1 billion more people in the West lived for decades under the threat of nuclear annihilation by Marx's followers. The lesson of the 20th century is that boring bourgeois conservatives are not the mass killers - starry-eyed idealists are.
And yet the western left seems to have learned nothing from the 20th century. Here they are again, those siren voices, unashamed and free of guilt, still insulting the West, still looking for alternatives. If we listen to them, 100 million more will die in the 21st century.
Understand the butchery that has already taken place first, before you follow the siren voices of any new revolutions. Revolutions do not necessarily liberate. Historically, revolutions have enslaved as often as they have liberated.
If you add up all of the deaths from 1900-1999 as a result of Leftwing, Socialist, Communist, Marxist, Liberal Governments, the totals add up to more than 262,000,000. The term that has been coined for this is democide....
Just to give perspective on this incredible murder by government, if all these bodies were laid head to toe, with the average height being 5', then they would circle the earth ten times. Also, this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in all the foreign and internal wars of the century. Finally, given popular estimates of the dead in a major nuclear war, this total democide is as though such a war did occur, but with its dead spread over a century.
KingOfTruthiness, You've obviously given this a lot of thought. But I think you are being overly "liberal" in your association of leftwing and the liberal movement of America.
Yes, Hitler called himself a National Socialist but quoting a liar does not turn his lie into truth. He was a fascist plain and simple. Hitler's chosen label is similar to that of Kim Jong-Il today. He calls his country The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. The only shred of truth in that name is "of Korea". When you accurately quote a liar, you are telling the truth about what he said, but you are still quoting a lie.
Marx was a communist socialist, and probably out of sincere concern for his fellow man. He saw the capitalist abuses of the Robber Baron era and yearned for a better way. He probably believed that his new economic theory, "From each according to his means, and to each according to his needs." would create a more equitable world. His thoughts captured a lot of minds even here in America.
Unfortunately for Marx, his understudy, Joseph Stalin, had no dreams of equality and fraternity among men. He lusted only for raw power. It is likely that Marx saw this and was planning to tap someone else as his successor, and that Stalin then disposed of his mentor before that could happen.
Stalin wasn't much of anything when it comes to political labels. He meant to rule. He was excessively paranoid. And his paranoia drove him to kill anyone he even remotely thought might challenge him. His lust for power and control drove him to spread Soviet rule.
To equate all this with America's current left is a disservice to a bunch of fine Americans and to the truth.
There are plenty of examples of Socialist leaning governments such as those in Scandinavia to show that Socialist and mass executioner are not one and the same.
Let's just agree to agree about two points. Governments can be incredibly dangerous if they gather unchecked power and revolutions certainly can and often do blow up in the hands of those who carry them.
The "New World Order" group will be left with only themselves or each other to trust or to count on for medical care, labor, etc.???
Isn't this the 'Killing the goose that laid the golden eggs' story?
i don't really get it either...
Sure it is TexAngel!!!
But these A-Holes don't care...the bill for thier excesses won't be due till LONG after they are dead, and Bush has done his best to shield thier heirs from ANY consequences...so who gets the bill???(AGAIN)
It seems you're referring to financial consequences. Those aren't the only consequences that result when push comes to shove.
Financial consequence is the LEAST of it!!!
Yes you are right but think about it. It is the whold world we are talking about. Most people don't think what is going to really happen here. First some people will say this is not to bad, than they will say great. But after the world has been taken over and everything blows up what will they say than?
Unfortunately with the advent of the Social Security Number we are already there. Now comes the tag.
a social security number can't be read by a guy passing you with an electronic device. these new ID cards can. you aren't supposed to carry your SS card with you. why ??? so you won't friggin' loose it!! This card you will have to have on you always.
This is another way to control you. being controlled isn't being free.
Just wait until the next terrorist attack... All you pansies will be begging for anything that will make it easier to protect you from the jealous foreigners leering at your decadence.
you pansies will be begging for anything that will make it easier to protect you from the jealous foreigners leering at your decadence.>>>>
You mean like the CON sheep are doing NOW? Back under your bed. Be afraid, be very afraid.
No, the pansies are those supporting this card--afraid of their own shadows--as if this card would actually do anything to protect us against a determined foe. Very likely the next "terrorist" attack on us is going to be by goons from Halliburton and Blackwater enforcing martial law.
Terrorist attack. The attacks come from home!
I don't need the government to protect me, I can do that myself thanks to the Constitution. What most of the discussion here is about is protecting our Liberates from the government. This administration has passed more laws that infringe on the rights of its citizens in the name of security than any other in recent history. Totalitarianism always begins this way. Restrict the rights of the people, keep track of them, make travel a hassle, make sure that you are able to deal with any potential troublemakers swiftly and quietly. Read through the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act, then go read some history. This is history repeating itself. If our founding fathers were here today, they would be leading the charge against this legislation.
No REGULAR American has any need of the protections of the Bill of Rights, or the ACLU, nor has anything to gain from them. Let them listen in to our phone calls and search our houses... we have nothing to hide! The "Great Writ" protects only those who have got themselves in some kind of trouble.
Keep a clean nose
Watch the plain clothes
You don't need a weather man
To know which way the wind blows
Your ignorance of the true importance of the Bill of Rights is almost overwhelming. All regular Americans need the protections of the Bill of Rights, not just law-breakers. Why do you think they are the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. Our Founding Fathers recognized the importance of these measures above anything else. I have nothing to hide either but I am educated enough and informed enough to understand the importance of the Bill of Rights. Maybe you should try reading it sometime. You might learn something.
"The Conventions of a number of the States having, at the time of adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added, and as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution; "
