Honestly, can anyone wonder why so many don't vote!! Don't you feel you're on a used car lot... being sold a car you don't want!!!!

Never equate an attack or lack of an attack as any kind of indication if progress has been made on security.

Lets see - now to get on a plane I not only need a valid picture ID (I use my USA Passport) but I must take off my shoes. Do you really think those things matter along with not being able to carry on a nail clipper or shampoo or other liquids.

You can still walk across the border from Canada (as did the majority of the 9/11 attackers) and it is almost as easy to come in from Mexico. Few if any containers coming into our ports are properly inspected. These to me are the threats to our security and the lack of action taken there indicates no improvement in security.

Finally the non-critical steps taken at airports which do not really do anything to enhance security are harming the security. As they make many feel more secure fewer will be likely to report unusual activities that may truly indicate a threat.

Stop doing what looks good - do what does good!

Hwere did you get the impression that the 911 highjackers walked accross the canadian border. Never heard that before. Did you just make it up?

That's because 9-11 wasn't an attack but an inside job!!!

I don't see any relevence to Edwards. He was a wet noodle in the last campaign and I don't look for anything different this time around either.

The Clintons have been killing the democratic party for too long, They just need to go home! Hillary is just phoney.

I'm looking to Obama to bring this country back together. He is the only candidate that is a uniter instead of a divider.

I'll admit I didn't watch the whole thing, but I also lost any confidence I had in any of the candidates. The question that tipped my scale had to be the English as our Official language question. For them to basically cave to immigrants is utterly preposterous.

I don't go to France or China and expect them to cater to my english speaking abilities. French and Chinese (dialects aside) are the official languages of those countries and many others have their own. English should not be second classed to any other language in this country. It's what we were built on and that's where we should stay.

I have much more respect for someone who comes to this country and tries to learn English, than I do of anyone who expects me to understand their language.

Hopefully the Repubs won't disappoint so much on Tuesday. I don't have much hope, and I know this country is screwed for the next 4-8 years, so good luck to everyone as we all try to live through these troubling times.

You get more respect from the French or Chinese or whomever if you at least try to master simple phrases in their language, even if you have to use a phrase book. I have noticed a difference in the way the native population treated me, even in the tourist centers where they speak English, when I tried to use their language.

They may have been laughing at my feeble attempts but service seemed better and many were willing to help me with the phrasing, pronunciation and usage of words in their language.

'And Clinton added, "The differences between us are minor'

That's the problem. Not much to base your choice on. The candidates are interchangeable so you're reduced to making subjective choices.

That's because if you happen to think differently, they blackball you and call you a traitor.

Ask Leiberman.

You need to fit into a cookie cutter to be a democrat.

If as she stated she feels we are more secure today than in the past then there are very very major differences.

I would expect a candidate to be honest about the pourus borders and lack of cargo inspection and indicate those holes need to be closed to improve security.

Saying we are more secure today puts here in the same class as the die hard 28 percenters who totally support everyting shrub has done.

I am disappointed in all of the Democratic candidates. I guess I consider myself in the swing vote class as I claim no one political party, but from what I watched of the debate, they all looked fake.

Here is a tip for the DNC, get a solid plan on all the issues before you start your campaigns! All this looked like more appeasement to the far left (insane) minority of the Democratic Party than to it's base.

I was looking towards John Edwards, but now he has went on the appeasement plan as well! The Populist party rings a bell!

Looks like I'll be looking to the Republican's again to see if they have any solid plans on their upcoming debate. I'm sure many swing voter's will as well.

The debate was weak due to the ridiculous time constraints and haphazardly organized platform.

Overall, (this time around) the juncture did not reveal any strong presidential hopefuls. Why? Clinton was too nice, Edwards too brash and Obama too conservative. The remaining few candidates attempted to show their charisma but had no definitive characteristic that was presidential or a convincing plan that would do anything more than take two presidential terms to implement and overwhemingly raise federal and state taxes.

Without doubt, Sen. Obama is the most presidential, possibly the best choice; except where he lacks indepth experience, unlike Ms. Clinton who appears to have more knowledge of worldly politics. But, Obama is a fast learner, innovative and not afraid to expose and/or wise enough to resist the temptations of advocates or those who secretly attempt to control politics in this country and the world. Lesser candidates seem to have blank check agendas or wasted time.

'Contenders clash on Iraq, immigration health care'

It was Disgraceful to hear the Democratic Party stand in Front of the American Public and totally unified agree that English need Not be Our national language???

The Bottom line is, the Democratic Party does Not see any Problem with Illegal immigration??? This was Clear throughout the debate...

Note, if left as is, except Illegal immigration coming to a town near You??? also, teach your children to learn another language, they will need it...

Thanks democrats!!!

Hillary appeared to be the Big looser at this debate....

Hillary did a lot of double talking and although she is a well accomplished Liar, she is No Bill Clinton...

Unless Hillary is in a staged venue like Larry king with softball predetermined questions, she does very Poorly on her own...

Just imagin these Nuts in charge of protecting our Country?

What a Bunch of Pure 'BS'

How Sad...

As much as I don't like any of them, I have to say that at least Obama has been consistent with his stance on the war. I couldn't disagree more, but at least he's sticking to his gu... oops.

Edwards really shouldn't be lecturing anyone on this issue, and Hillary, well, we'll have to wait and see how she feels about things until the next debate or senate vote...

With respect to Hillary, we'll have to wait for what the next poll says about anything so she can form her opinion.

Right... or focus group. I picture Hillary behind the one sided mirror trying to cultivate her latest opinion. Then practicing her latest dialect depending on who and where she speaks. "I don't feels no ways tired"....

From article: "As long as there is a single troop in Iraq that I know if I take action by funding them, I increase the prospect they will live or not be injured, I cannot and will not vote no to fund them," said Biden, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee."

That is well-reasoned. Kudos, Mr. Biden.

Hmmmmm.... Son of the Mask.... A reincarnation?

??? Son of the Mask is a movie with Jamie Kennedy, Alan Cumming, and Bob Hoskins. It is one of my guilty pleasures (the critics and most fans hated it). It was supposed to be the The Mask 2 with Jim Carrey but he didn't want to do the character again...so they came up with Son of the Mask. The idea is that any baby conceived by a father who is wearing the Mask is Loki's "godson" (literally!!). I thought it was somewhat neat so I plagiarized.

Although the movie was a reincarnation of sorts (more of a reimagining), there isn't any reincarnation in it.

And..."LiberalsSmell"? I guess that gets your point across, but still...to each their own I guess.

I wish Jim Carrey had been in it, but it seems he's pulled a Robin williams/Tom Hanks. Oh well our loss I guess, but I prefer the original Masked...

Hey, for what it is Son of the Mask isn't that bad.

Having watched the debate, I have to say that better questions could have been asked. ...It will be interesting to see if the Republicans are fielded softball questions on Tuesday.

John Edwards did well last night. I loved to watch Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich. Bill Richardson made some good points.

I'm glad they all see that "don't ask don't tell" should be scrapped.

I'm with Kucinich on health care, but I believe that Edwards offers the more realistic approach as far as a plan that could pass Congress.

I also think Edwards did well with questions on the war. I believe most Americans accept his contrition for the war vote.

I really don't think the debate itself changed anyone's mind....

"Edwards said his opponents "have been quiet" on calling for a plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq."

very true.
