How can a President be above the law? Above the FOIA? Incredible! No to mention troubling.

quite troubling, and this is something that's been growing for decades. The Constitution is the law, and we have consistently allowed politicians to "bend the rules" for some good cause....what's the result? Eventually we end up with a politicians who feels that the rules don't apply at all.

A shadow goverment, that was going on before the last election. The energy policy meetings that no one was allowed to know who attended, Bush was still re-elected.

I posted this comment on a similar thread ...

It sure must be nice to make up your own rules - that override all federal and constitutional rules - as you go so that you can do whatever you want, when you want.

That is what the Bush administration has been doing the last 6 years, which is apparently ok only because they are Republicans and Republicans do no wrong.

        Bulls**t ....

          A King IS the law...

Hey elzorro2162- great posts, the dictatorial enlargement of executive privilege is one of the gravest dangers to our Democracy from psycho Bush. The founding fathers addressed it again again, checks and balances, three branches, term limits etc. (Thank you too, bubba2.)

People seem sadly to need to be reminded about the out of control nature of the situation. And I'm sure not seeing it on my TV.

Ummm...sorry about any rant duplication over on your Christian posts. *i hadn't had my caffeine yet* oops

I used to think that Nixon had the most secretive White House, but not anymore. When you kick Nixon to the curb vis-a-vis paranoid secrecy, that's a real accomplishment.

Anytime I see the name "Cheney" it is like a magnet that draws me within.

By the way, nothing to do with this individual that is referred to as Dick Cheney surprises me. My only regret is that stoning is illegal. I surmise most Americans see this man for what he is, despicable. No other Vice President, even including Agnew, comes close to corruption personified. Haliburton and all the no bid contracts for a war are a legal license to steal yet Americans are silent and permissive, Why? Do we deserve this type of individual in office and being 2nd in position of leadership for America. That alone speaks volumes about the apathy that now resides within our Democracy. Cheney is the epitomy of evil within government and Bush is his lapdog. There is no other way to say what is, so if I offend your common sense and decency, so be it. You elected the trio, if you did, so reap what you sowed.

Unfortunately it is obvious that the people are not aware of Cheney's intentions. He has roughly the approval rating of Congress. While Congress deserves no love they have hardly been guilty of developing a cabal at the top of our government. It is his smug self assurance that he is always right that drives the man. Yet he is almost always proven wrong in his assessements. Really, think about how many times Cheney has incorrectly assessed the situation in Iraq alone. Is it because he is poorly informed, hardly. It is because ideology trumps reality in his world.

I have begun to just ignore Bush. He is but a symbol, not the source. Try to find any coherant speeches or writings on foreign policy from GW prior to his first election. They just are not there. Makes you wonder what the voting public was listening to in '00.

So what firm, besides KBR, was in a position to rebuild Iraq's oil infrastructure in the given time frame?

Anti social Cheney has plenty of reasons to hide his criminal acts. Let's hope justice catches up with this arrogant beast.

It seems that the Dems are unwilling to impeach this current administration, maybe its time for the people to excersize the rights in the constitution and desolve the current government and start a new one. One stipulation, prior office holders not allowed to sit in the new government.

It may be that this is a worthwhile idea. And, frighteningly, one that may have to implemented by force of arms in the not-too-distant future. I urge you all - do NOT surrender your 2nd amendment rights; the American Militia may be called upon sooner than later to fight tyranny once again.

OK - I see one problem here: I think that visitors to a persons HOME are NOT public property. Any more than a list of persons visiting YOUR home would be. A list of persons visiting a public servant, while he is at work, in OUR damn building - those ARE public property. PERIOD!

Cheney is actually Hitler in disguise. He has been visited by Pinnochio and Spiderman. They are planning on overthrowing the govt. in Utah. Bush is having lunch with Darth Vader as we speak. What a bunch of moronic BS!

I can't believe the crap that the brain dead, paranoid, CT's come up with on a daily basis!

So, you're defending Mr Cheney? You're ok with all the off-the-record actions he undertakes? Please counter any of the DOZENS of heinous charges against him? You would be brighter if you changed your name to Hexachrome, maybe?
