The Vices of Cheney: Where Impeachment Must Begin »

I submit that only a bunch of Congressional fools, who read The Post and The Times and McClatchy wire stories, could have failed over time to notice that the Vice President has been, and still is, systematically destroying the evidence--the paper and electronic trails--that document his impeachable offenses.

Congressman Kucinich introduced articles of Impeachment of Cheney weeks ago. It took off like a wild fire. He has, oh, eights votes so far. He only needs 282 more votes to Impeach. He cannot even get the 233 Democrats to join him. What is that about?

Unfortunately, the charges that the Democratic Congress is ineffective are correct. Unlike Newt Gingrich's Republican congress. The Republicans are true idealogues, totally involved in pushing their agenda regardless of the consequences to the nation. Therefore, even without the popular backing for the impeachment of Clinton, they pushed on ahead and bogged down the entire executive branch w/ repetitive subpoenas, court appearances, depositions.
Democrats on the whole are less of idealogues and less rabid about our ideals because our ideals are so variegated. Remember, we ae the party of the poor, the immigrants, the minorities, and the oppressed (gays and lesbians are just 2 examples). Therefore, it is harder for Democrats to rally behind a single driving ideal. That is one of our glorious strengths and one of our greatest weakness.
We also saw the deep harm the Reps did to the divisiveness in our nation with the Clinton impeachment. We do not want to repeat that harm.

In order for the Democratic Party to truly rise again we need to fall behind a single cause. That cause should be running the neo-cons and likes of Karl Rove out of Washington. They have been lying to the American people about their agenda and its consequences since they took office in '00. If we focus on issues like gay marriage and protecting the rights of illegal immigrants we risk losing sight of the main objective and risk allowing the continued rule of those who assuredly do not represent the best interests of America. The issues of the special interests should fall to the backburner for now in favor of a major change within this country, including a firm rejection of neo-conservatve values.

Dems are the party of who? With Nancy Peolosi or Ted kennedy, who are you trying to kid. They support wealth distribution, high taxes, big government, low expectations. Out side of impeach Bush or end the war now, they have nothing. Unless non-binding resolutions count. They they have a few of them.
Clinton broke the law, impeachment should have occurred. I'm not sure how things would have gone had there been a president Gore. Then again, if we have another president Clinton, we could see a second Clinton impeached.

More like you are the party of division and slinging pure BS.
Democrats enslaved blacks. Republicans set them free. Edwards showed just how much Demcorats care about homosexuals - not one bit. Mitt Romney showed how Republican leaders care about homosexuals having the right to marry by signing the law enabling it.

Unfortunately for you and the rest of the Democrats our judicial system is still somewhat working Do you remember innocent until proven guilty! Just as the writer stated none of the allegations can be proven. Circumstantial evidence is just that circumstantial.
And as for the democrats not pushing their agendas down our throats, Maybe I don't believe in gay marriage and don't think I have to live around it. Just one more thing to help demoralize and desensitize America and our youth.
I have also noticed the only time the democrats are so sympathetic to special interest groups is when they have their own special interest in mind.
If you know anything about history you would know the presidents responsible for helping special interest groups have been republicans. It was Lincoln that helped to free the slaves (Republican). Although the liberals are working hard to ensure they stay inslaved through just enough govt. hand-outs to keep them voting you in. Teach a man to fish .......

typical backwards thinking on your part, is what it appears to be about. Clinton was impeached for lying about a BJ - which you agree proves how important THAT effort was. And an impeachment for Cheney is seemingly not going to happen - so, your conclusion is that Cheney Does No Wrong?

What it is about is that the Democratic led Congress has done near nothing to help this country after promising the 'moon'. Shameful........ it will come back to haunt them.

Keep falling back on your fallacious talking points. The Dems have no real power. You know this and any right thinking American should understand this.
I wouldn't fault the fools who fall for such a line but they should at least understand that this talking point was created the day after the Dems won in '06. So it has no relevance to reality.

That is because Dennis the Menace is an idiot, and a clueless one at that. Dennis is all about things that are symbolic, rather than realistic. Every four years, Denis runs for President and ends up in exactly the same position, broke and in last place.
A reasonable person, which Dennis is not, should be able to look in the mirror and conclude" I will never be elected President".
Introduction of a Bill of Impeachment is nothing more than a fund raising invitation. I will give this to Dennis, he knows lots of radical leftist who are bigger idiots than he is, as they continue to give him money and never get anything in return.

Even Kucunichs' own party knows he's an idiot, what I find remarkable is that these boring repetitive posts even make it this far. Says something about Netscape doesn't it? There are no divides other than the extreme left and those Democrats with a functioning brain. It's an insult to the many diverse groups within the Democratic party to imply they have no ability to discern the truth and recognize the idiot left for what they are.

The Dems have to do what is right (that is Impeach) because that is the Law, it's what Americans want, and it will help clear our good name with Allies and others in the World that our actions the last 4-6 years were due to crazed psychopaths hijacking our government. To NOT Impeach hurts our system of Government and basically says to any future inhabitant of the White House that they can do abything they want w/o retribution........not good for any American and not Constitutional.
