Cheney dismissed congressional investigations into the firings of nine U.S. attorneys as "a bit of a witch hunt."

"First of all, there's no charge," Cheney said. "What's the allegation of wrongdoing here? Frankly, there isn't any."

"They keep rolling over rocks hoping they can find something, but there really hasn't been anything come up that would suggest there was any wrongdoing of any kind," adding that he did not feel that Bush senior political adviser Karl Rove need testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the matter.

"The president feels strongly - and I do too, I agree with him - that it's important for us to pass on these offices we occupy to our successors in as good a shape as we found them. And that means protecting and preserving the integrity of those processes," Cheney said.

Cheney added, "I think that an offer has been made" wherein senior officials would meet with members of Congress -- "but not under oath, not in public, no transcript, to discuss these issues."

Who else apart from Cheney and his minions would describe this cover-up as "protecting and preserving the integrity of those processes"?

It sounds more like burying them alive.

That's what all witches say. In Cheney's case, with all due respect, Lord of Darkness.

I'm just wondering how they kept his green skin tint and cackling laugh off camera... }:>

"Double Double, We'll Make Trouble, Iraq burns and oil wells bubble!"

That's why he's angry, they keep rolling the rocks over and he HATES that sunlight...

More of the usual. Nothing to see here, move on folks.

Seriously, who wants an endorsement from Darth Cheney? It's as good as prima facie evidence of wrongdoing.

Brought to you by the man who assured us:

Saddam was behind 911 - Lie

We know where the WMDs are - Lie

Saddam tried to buy yellow cake from Niger - Lie

A fast light force and 6 weeks are all we need in Iraq - Lie

There won't be any insurgency - Lie

The insurgency is in its last throes - Lie

We're fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here - Lie

But with all of Gonzo's incredible testimony, we are supposed to believe that now Cheney's suddenly figured out how to tell the truth.

The whole Iraq war could have turned out different. I voted for Bush in 2000. I thought he was great after 9/11. I had suspicions, but I felt very patriotic. I even supported the Iraq war at first. I thought I understood the secret plan.

I thought for sure they would quickly invade Iran, knock over the government, and have elections. Then Russia would surrender and the whole world would belong to USA.

I thought these clowns were geniuses.

Thats why I am the American Idiot.

What counts is that you realized the truth. I hope we can get out of this mess quickly.

You are a neocons worst nightmare...someone who caught on that their constant stream of right wing talking point lies don't match up with the truth and the harsh light of reality.

Congrats.

You know the old phrase "put up or shut up"? Well, obviosly these incompetent liars can't put up, yet they refuse to shut up.

Thanks for the support. Yeah, I am a recovering Republican. Apparently there is a cure, thank God!

I remember all those protesters screaming "no war for oil", and thinking, why not? What else is more important to our economy and our way of life? Of course we'll go to war for oil. Six years later and the price per gallon is more than double, that affects the whole wage structure. Yeah, I've sometimes had to chose between eating and filling my gas tank.

Ahmidenajad could have been knocked over a few years ago, the Iraqis and Afghans would have helped us. Now it is too late for a ground war. Pakistan is more unstable by the week. Afghans are p1ssed 'coz we keep killing civvies. Even if we could raise an Iraqi Army, we would need them to stay there, so we could leave. And Russia gets stronger all the while.

Bush has weakened the United States.

Cheney is just starting up the choice for the new CON talking point. Right will media will repeat it a zillion times, and idiots will believe it. Nothing new here.

Should be 'right wing' media.

Your are exactly right about that. This is all about putting a neocon spin on it. The Daily Show does a great job of stringing together all the various neocons spouting off the same exact phase over and over and over again, anyhwere someone will put a microphone in thier face.

Well, in a way Cheney's right. This is a witch hunt...but calling the Bushies witches is actually being quite kind.

I have a lot of more appropriate words for them.

Cheney runs the US. Bush is a figurehead. He has tasted power and we are his chess pieces to be manipulated for his personal gain. Cheney IS a vampire. After witnessing the destruction of Fallujah with Napalm. Google the web and see pictures of babies, women and small children that were massacred. How many more of our children must die for his greed and power. When will this madness end? They had nothing to do with 9/11.

This all reads like a sad farce. Uttering these words, in the current situation, is beyond fiction.
