Impeachment as Political Solution to the Iraq War »

Improperly framing Iraq as a war benefits those responsible for it and obscures the clearest path to a saner future. If instead Iraq was framed as the armed assault that it was (billed as "Shock and Awe"), there is a logical, expedient political solution at our disposal - impeachment.

I dunno... I don't think impeachment is appropriate here. Maybe if Condi gave Bush a BJ it'd be proper, but this just seems like a waste of our nation's time and money.

It is a waste of money, plus there is no foundation for the charges or they would have already been brought by the Justice Department.
Just because you repeat something enough times does not make it true.
There are three branches of our government and they work just fine. They work for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
But hang onto your hats. You may get to blame the next President for something. I think all indications are that the terrorists are on the move again. We, after all, didn't attack them on 9/11, they attacked us. If you follow the money I think you can walk right through Iraq, right on into Iran. It was a failure of Jimmy Carter years ago. We failed to act on it then and we've inherited the misery. If we had just kept our noses out of it and let Israel kill Yassar Araphat I doubt we'd be dealing with this mess today, but NO we could not stand by and watch him be taken out for the terrorist he is. Maybe someone would like to free Charles Manson too?

Where thers smoke, theres fire Buddy. And this is a very BIG fire.
You Said:

Who attacked us? Iraq? Saddam? Afghanistan?
We have bombed the ****** out of 2 countries, there are no WMDs.
Get your head out of the sand. This war is about oil, and big business. Would we have gone into Iraq if there was no oil there? Simple question. think about it.
That question doesnt even TOUCH on the billions made by bush's friends from rehab contracts!

Imagine that Charles Manson went into Iraq, blew up a few buildings, and killed a couple of thousand people.
Imagine also that Iraq had the military might that the US did, and The US had the military might of iraq.
Now, after mansons bombing of iraq, Sadam says, "Those damned Americans!" and proceeded to invade Texas and California.
Now thats invasion man. Thats like what we are doing over there. And what are yu expecting? that the iraqis will side with us? what would you do to americans if they sided with an Iraqi invason of California and Texas, let alonr YOUR hometown, wherever you are from.
Now, ask yourself, are we doing the right thing? what is our goal? how do you define "winning the war"? Killing 3/4 of the population? and having the collaborators surrender? Is that the same definition that residents who were invaded would have?

Is invasion of Iraq the solution?
So what is?
Freedom. Real freedom. Freedom like in the US Constitution kind of freedom, where everyone is allowed to go wherever they want, and have whatever religion they want.
So, That means freedom to come to the USA. Are you ready for that? I sincerely doubt it.
So untill we are ready to put out hearts where our mout his we should stay out of other peoples ideological wars.
I agree with taking out Sadam because he tried to kill Dubyas daddy. But stop there. Its stupid and criminal to send our boys over there to fight a war that can't be won.

"there is no foundation for the charges or they would have already been brought by the Justice Department."
You mean the Justice Dept that is in total disarray (admitted to by the Justice Dept. leaders in testimony to Congress)? The Justice Dept that is firing US attys for not being political enough? The Justice Dept that is refusing to enforce congressional subpoenas? I am sure they would handle any charges in a total professional manner-----NOT!! In any case, its a moot point because it is not the role of the Justice Dept. to investigate and charge the president. Way to toss out that red herring.

"There are three branches of our government and they work just fine"
Hello??? Have you been in a coma and missed the whole Bush Administration? Not since the Grant Administration has there been a more corrupt, incompetent bunch to occupy the White House, and the Repbublican congress spent six years rubber stamping every fool move they made. Any one with a lick of sense knows the conservative Supreme Court took the action they know would make Bush president, not the action that was fair and just.
I would say that we have had three very broken branches of government of over six year.
Plus, why do neocons always insist that lying the country into a quigmire of a war is equivilant to lying about a sexual fling? What is their world like that makes them think that the guy they like doing horrible, horrible things is still better than the guy they don't like getting a bj on the side (but did lots and lots of other stuff right).

The truth of our current administration's treason will only come out in jots and tittles for the next decade. By then, the American people will be more concerned with the consequences of having a past megalomaniac president then for holding the little bastard and his minions accountable.

If you think getting a BJ is worse then this war, then i think u should do us all a favor and sighn up for the infatry and go over there(see how long you keep that opinion.) Id say that the first death of our soldiers was reason enough for impeacment since it has been proved that we are over there for WMD that dont exist, people that dont want us there. The only good coming out of it is that they are geting ritch.

They never use their Holy sites and Mosques to store their weapons?
BAGHDAD, Aug. 6, 2007 - Fed-up with violent and indiscriminate terror tactics, a group of more than 80 residents of the Adhamiyah district, on the east side of the Iraqi capital, banded together yesterday to oust suspected terrorists from a local mosque. The initial takeover of the Abu Hanifa Mosque occurred at about 2 p.m., apparently triggered by news that terrorists had murdered two relatives of a prominent local sheik. As the news spread, angry residents joined the sheik to storm the mosque, long believed to be a sanctuary for terrorists operating in the area, and ousted the suspected terrorists inside from the building. The uprising led to a string of events over the next 12 hours that ultimately resulted in the arrest of 44 suspected terrorists and the capture of three weapons caches.

This assault on the people of Iraq has been immoral, unconstitutional and financially ruinous since the day it started. Continuing the killing isn't going to make that change....the time for this insanity to end is now.
