Oh come on, as much as I hate to admit it, it should be obvious to most that unfortunately we need more taxes ... for infrastructure repair (just to name the MOST obvious) and others. And hey, all that money being spent in Iraq could come in handy right now ...

I'm watching Shrub give his pre-vacation press conference this morning and it's pretty bad. Did he wake and bake or what? He can barely get a complete sentence out. He starts drifting and just stops in mid-sentence and goes to something else.
He does better when he can dust off his rote script and spout his fearmongering mantra. But when he has to answer questions with more than slogans, he's really spacey.
Did you notice the things he wants to cut in the tax code are all domestic or encouraging domestic spending?
Instead of starting a war he could have just loaded the pallets of money up and sent them overseas. Then we could give away all our money with less loss of life.

This doesn't sound like a bad idea in theory, but I wonder if the investment and growth in US corporations will really offset the money lost from the decrease in taxes.
I'd love to see Bush's team's analysis and projections.

When will people understand that corporations do NOT pay taxes! They "collect" money that is built into the price that they charge for their product. They then pay these so called taxes to the government. So every dollar that they are "taxed" is in reality paid by you the consumer. So go ahead and raise their taxes and you will pay more for what you buy.

Corporations make money in whatever way they make money, have money subtracted for the price of doing business, and then pay income tax on whatever is left.
Taken to it's logical extent, none of the employees pay taxes on their wages either because they get their money from the company, which gets its money from the consumer, so consumers are paying the taxes of the workers. Who buys that?
Businesses charge as much as they can for their products and taxes are an afterthought.

Must suck to be a human subservant to their corporate masters. Corporations have more rights than homo sapiens.

With no malice meant, I offer this comment:
Several friends of mine here in Australia, safely removed from GWB's immediate vicinity, have speculated on whether the POTUS suffers from pre-senile dementia (i.e. what you get when you're 90, but at 50 instead). So far, little of what GWB has done has reassured me on that score.
