Posted by: SusanParrish 1 year agoPresidential hopeful Barack Obama said Wednesday his wife was not taking a swipe at Hillary Rodham Clinton when she said, ``If you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House.'' The remarks ``were not about Hillary Clinton,'' Obama told The Associated Press as he left a campaign rally in New York.

"Some political commentators have interpreted her words as a veiled attack on Obama's chief rival for the Democratic nomination."
Even if she didn't mean it that way, she does make the point that being able to maintain a stable home life is important if you seek the ever-so-much-more difficult job of running the country. And it is glaringly obvious that the Clinton household is somewhat less than stable.

"Now, if Obama can just support normal people who work for a living instead of Red Communists who steal from the people who work to give to people who don't."
David, you gotta put a disclaimer before you post things like that. Or at least warn me to put my glass down. I laughed so hard I spilled my tea. Thanks. : )

No matter who gets in office...=-O I don't see things getting better. We are on a very sharp decline and a President and all of Congress can't put us together again. However, the point she makes is valid, veiled or not. IF you cannot rule your own house, you cannot be placed in a position of authority. I understand her point and consider it a wise consideration.
With that in mind who could we possibly find to run here in America then. ???? Would be very few, and many in Congress are or would be disqualified. As if that is news! Are there any running who fill that requirement????

There was only one Savior, and we crucified Him!! Obama, I feel, is the best of the lot we have to choose from. He has the audacity of hope, the wisdom of Solomon (well, almost), the tenacity of an ant, the patience of Paul, the diplomacy of Mandela, the heart of David, the love of Mother Teresa, and the spirit of JFK, MLK and RFK combined. Will he do any better than anyone else? Only God knows. What we all know, (or should) is that he can't do any worse!

Greed has taken over and ruined this country. What was once the greatest nation in the world has been brought to it's knees. IMHO!
Things aren't likely to change regardless of who is elected in 08, greed will invariably take over regardless of the good intentions of whomever is elected.
We're a country divided, and it's not going to change for a long time, no matter who is elected president.

I've always said that the Republicans can't unite the country and the Democrats won't unite it.
But I disagree with you about greed. People are greedy all over the world, and we have been greedy in the past. People were greedy when they massacred the Native Americans. If anything, I think that today we're a pretty generous people - look at the reaction of Americans to any disaster anywhere in the world. We're there trying to help.

Her remarks are subject to anyone's interpretation. If Obama feels that his wife did not make them to swipe at Hillary, he has every right to say so. That does not make him in denial or not forthcoming, that makes him a man of his own opinion who does not say whatever he thinks other people want him to. That's one of the things I admire most about him.

Transcript, courtesy of the Obama campaign:
"So our view was that, if you can't run your own house, you certainly can't run the White House. So, so we've adjusted our schedules to make sure that our girls are first, so while he's traveling around, I do day trips. That means I get up in the morning, I get the girls ready, I get them off, I go and do trips, I'm home before bedtime. So the girls know that I was gone somewhere, but they don't care."
The above is the full quote from her speech, it's obvious to me that she is referring to herself and Senator Obama and not to another candidate but, it is the political season.

I thought she was gunning for Giuliani but whatever the case, what she said made perfect sense. If you can't run your own house, you really shouldn't be trusted to run the entire nation. Everybody should make up their own minds about who can and can't keep their own houses in good order.

The headline should read "Neocon gossip columnist Matt Drude made up a story about a cat fight between Clinton and Obama which the so called liberal media gives extensive coverage to because it is cheaper and easier than getting real news." The neocons know the value of spreading hate and divide and conquer.

Michelle is obviously an angry black woman. Think of all those student loans she had to pay off. Then she whined in Ohio how hard it was to keep up the $10k she is spending on ballet, etc. for her girls.
I feel for her, really.
