We need to get these THUGS out of the white house. They are going to destroy OUR country . If Bush pulls a fast one and tries to stay in power it will be up to us the citizens to drag Bush/gang's sorry butt out into the street. It could get pretty rough if it comes to that. I feel OUR country is worth saving from these greedy power hungry Thugs. I hope and pray that it doesn't come to that but you never know and the way things are looking it could happen.

I read the article and automatically felt something is going to go down. What that is, I've no clue. But with all the talk about Cheney and Co, and those rep.'s that are saying that all we need is another 9/11 to get us all to go to Bush's Brain, and the bomb Iran dream ...well it seems a bit strange that we've got a battalion deployed to DC. WTF?? Don't anyone even bother with typing the words conspiracy nutz as a response.
I don't trust Bush Cheny at all and nothing they do would surprise me. It makes me sick, but certainly, I expect the worse is yet to come. Those rotten Bas%$#ds.

I agree Ciera Marie, this is all too weird!
With our troops and Natl. Guardsmen in short supply, due to the wars overseas, why now, the year running up to the next election?

CieraMarie, Great points:Like I said below, it's hurricane Season here in Fl.We just may need the Guard here in case of a hurricane.
Also, DNC Votes To Shut Florida Dems Out of Convention and "a similar fight will erupt within the GOP, as that party may also move to sanction Florida Republicans for their earlier primary. The national GOP has given Florida Republicans until September 4th to come up with an acceptable plan, or face losing up to half of their delegates."
Something certainly is not right.But whatever the reason,I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. It's sort of like waiting for the other foot to drop?
Maybe it's to protect that Battalion because of their specialty and maybe they've been ordered to get out of Dodge?Who knows at this point, but it sure is odd.

Bush and his idiot associates should be afraid of the American electorate who until now has been abysmally apathetic in their acceptance of what is. We attacked a nation who never attacked us. We caused thousands of deaths and misery while displacing millions of Iraqi's. How can any American continue to accept what is?
Bush and Cheney and their fellow money grubbers have led America down a path of destruction with Rome being an excellent analogy. Afghanistan was our war, not Iraq but we plod along with a dysfunctional government in the attempt to appease our Israeli and kingpin, Oil lobbyist. It's all so clear yet the neocons accept themselves as plain old followers of a lunatic agenda. Send in the troops since Bush being the Vietnam draft dodger he is and Cheney the King of college deferments want other Americans to die for their lunacy including the Billions of dollars throw down the drain to the fat cat elites of America. Haliburton is a prime offshore entity now.

From Wikipedia: Operation Noble Eagle is the U.S. military operational designator to the military's efforts in the War on Terrorism that were carried out on US soil. The operation began September 14, 2001, in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks, and continues to the time of this writing. Operation Noble Eagle comprises, among other things, air interceptor patrols over and around cities and the mobilization of thousands of National Guard and Reserve troops to perform security missions on military installations, airports and other potential targets such as bridges.">>>>
So we've gone from bridges to cities? Sliding the military right on in there, isn't he. Expanding their 'authority?' Testing to see the response? Don't mind me. Just talking out loud.

Uh-oh. What's going on? Bush is expecting trouble, which means we better be expecting another nasty from this administration. Is marshal law in the wind? Fascism, here we come. Maybe we're about to have that "surprise" Iranian nuclear attack, and Bush is worried about the riots that another false flag attack might produce. Time is running out for the GOP, so they really need this attack to happen soon. Do you think anyone will believe Bush again? I know the evidence already. Passports on the ground, an Iranian flag in some hotel room somewhere, with the plans all laid out in some briefcase left behind. Does he really think we're stupid enough to fall for it again? Yep. Americans better get ready for some surprise breakfast guests, wearing green and looking for weapons.

I know the brain dead right wing will think we're just being paranoid but given the track record of this sorry excuse for a president I tend to agree with you. My first thought after reading the article was that they'll be needing a lot more muscle to man the "freedom zones" this time around after they attack Iran and declare martial law and declare the "08 elections a non-event and whatever other fascist nonsense these clowns are cooking up.
Our only chance is that the Rapture is for real and it happens soon. BTW, Georgie, I'll take your mountain bike, training wheels and all.

Lets see. Operation Noble whatever put planes 24 hours a day over US cities. Wasn't Washington one of them? Isn't there an Air Force base next to the Shrubs city? Why troops from Florida to man air defense? I'm not one to believe in outlandish theories but this stinks to high heaven. Be prepared something bad is coming down the pike and Martial Law is it's name.

We have Andrews air force base not 20 miles from the capitol. Patuxent River naval Air station is about 60 miles away. Then, Nestef located about 70 miles away, which deals exclusively with aviation surveillance.
I thought the states governors reigned over the national guards, not the president. Or did Bush take that authority as well?
Another thought. There is a thinking that a miss could be just as effective as a hit. Say these national guardsmen, thwarted some droned attack on the capitol. With the drone destroyed, they could claim any attacker they wanted, with just as flimsy as evidences as he used before, and no videos to deal with. But if someone wanted to attack the white house, why fly directly over it, to target some newly constructed wall on the pentagon building? I would think that any died in the wool terrorist, would jump at the opportunity to plant a big kiss on the capitol, wouldn't they? Bush has affected my thinking, now I assume everything he says is a lie.

Sheesh! I'm with you on this one. These guys are ADA! They'd be a little more effective as ground troops than your average computer operator, but not much.
This is the one that gets me:
"Doesn't mean he won't be in the line of fire in Washington, D.C., but it does give me a little comfort," Yolanda McCormack said, whose husband is being deployed.
He could have gone to Iraq, instead he goes to DC where she can visit him any time with a few hours notice, and she gets "a little comfort"?!? I'm crying for the poor guy married to this twit.
I sure wish I'd known who to f**k to get an assignment like this when I was in the Reserve!

It's sort of obvious what this is, isn't it? I mean honestly.. Since when have NG troops been deployed to DC?
Under the Posse Comitatus Act as amended in 2006, troops may be deployed to restore public order when as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, serious public health emergency, terrorist attack etc. What does the President or the military know that would necessitate a deployment?
I'd say nothing. Most likely it's the first step towards engaging:NATIONAL SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/NSPD 51 and HOMELAND SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/HSPD-20.
You can read about how the Bushies, end of world nutjobs and oil-sucking vampires will work their facist takeover right on the White House web site:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05...
If that doesn't scare you (along with executive orders numbers 10990 - 11005) then you're either mentally deficient or in denial.

This part is the scariest of all.
(c) Defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and preventing or interdicting attacks against the United States or its people, property, or interests;
(d) Maintaining and fostering effective relationships with foreign nations;
(e) Protecting against threats to the homeland and bringing to justice perpetrators of crimes or attacks against the United States or its people, property, or interests;
(f) Providing rapid and effective response to and recovery from the domestic consequences of an attack or other incident;

Thanks for posting this, Jordan. This is freaky. As you asked, what's really going on here? Why is this not on the MSM news? Why is this happening now? What's in the wind? There will be no satisfaction in knowing that the NEOCON nut-jobs have finally realized how Boosh has done us in. Because when that realization dawns, it will be too late for ALL of us.

Why is this happening now?>>>>
If it had happened on Sept. 12, 2001, I wouldn't have thought anything about it. If it had happened on Sept. 12, 2002, I wouldn't have thought anything about it. Or even 2003......but it is 2007! And besides, as we've been told, we're fighting the 'terrrrists' over there so we don't have to fight em here.

I sincerely hope he's right but common sense says different. Why send in National Guard troops to protect the Capitols air space? Isn't there ground to air missiles on top of the Capitol, along with the men to man them? The Shrub and cronies are up to something and it isn't baking a cake.

Gee the troops would be from Florida, under the command of the guy you all let get appointed to the position of the of the President by the supreme court. Now his brother sends under his or his?? command the NG for the air defense of the capitol. Holy crap, if you do not think DC air space has not been tighter then your wildest dream, your not dreaming.
The question is . Will you let him steal the elections again under the guise of national defense emergency of a staged event.
I mean really, who running in the Democratic Party who has a chance to be elected, a woman, NO. A Man of color. NO plus a bunch of old has beens. I am not gainst either, it just will not happen. I mean Hillary Clinton. God the Pubs are still blaming Bill for the British burning the the White House. Hillary HA!
Nixon tried this during the 1972 elections, in Chicago wanted to call them off for the good of the country and watergate, but Alexander Haig then a top General refused to back him militarily .

Here's something to think about. We're a year away from who will be running for president on both parties tickets. We're a little over a year away from the next presidential election. I think they're being sent a. Florida's Governor is the brother of the President and b. the main reason they don't want us to protest in away way shape or form.

There is a secret contingent of non-governmental agents of the GOP currently at work in the East wing of the White House drafting the "Revocation of Freedoms Act of 2008".
Cheney, holed up in his lair, called in the troops as a preventive measure to act as his personal escort back to his ranch compound in Wyoming where he will continue to run the country indefinitely despite the revolts of "poor, insignificant citizens" as a result of the 'ROFA' of 08.
