Damn... We all knew fred would do just about anything for a buck, but helping terrorists to further his income was something i didnt think was something he viewed as morally alright. Oh well, guess some people are willing to bend their views when it suits them eaiser than others.

WOW 3.3 hrs lol do you have any stories about the countless hours american attorneys spent defending Sadaam during his trial? Last time I checked you are allowed to have counsel....not that 3 and 1/3 hrs can count as counsel LOL

Slimey, smarmy politicians. The lot of them. Are we surprised that they say one thing and do another? Isn't that part of their job description these days?

Where are the statesmen who act out of principle? Do they have too much integrity to run for public office or has that segment of the political population become extinct?

Statesmen who act out of principle? Sad to say, it costs so much to run for office today that they all have to compromise to raise funds.

And who would want to wade through the scrutiny and slander any candidate must face to run? Only egotists whose need to be in the spotlight surpasses their desire to adhere to principles. (A character trait shared by many actors, btw.)

In Thompson's case, it doesn't matter if he compromises. He's never shown any interest in principles anyway.

Until the populace gets smarter about what qualities candidates need to actually run the country, as opposed to "charisma," we're just rolling the dice, hoping the ones we elect are just buffoons, rather than a cynical cabal with an evil agenda.

No spin. No one cares. He is so much more then a Lobbyist that we won't give that a second notice. In fact we won't give anything the Democrats say about Fred a second notice. See, the next President will name at least 2 Supreme Court Justices, and we want them named by a Republican. It doesn't matter who the Republicans nominate they will be a damn sight better then the little lady, or the former Muslim.

Oh yeah, he's more than a lobbyist. He's also an actor. Great qualifications to president.

So now if Fred wins the White House the ruthless dictator of Libya will have a friend running this country.

Oh, yeah, he is an actor. He is also a two term Senator who won his last election with 69% of the vote. Plus, he is folksy, and likable, and he will beat any Democrat they field in their Primaries. Whether you like it or not funny, and likable beats cold, and heartless every time.

              From Newsweek (9/10/07):

"Thompson has never been an enthusiastic politician. GOP elders in Tennessee had to plead with him to run for the Senate in 1994, and he never felt at home in the Capitol, with its arcane rules of order and endless late-night jawboning sessions. This time around, some close to him question whether moving into the White House is truly Thompson's life ambition--or more the dream of his second wife, Jeri..."

              From Time (5/34/07):

"With eight years in the Senate, his legislative record was thin. Says a former adviser: 'While the Senate is filled with ambitious men who aren't in a rush to get home at night, Senator Thompson kept a lean formal schedule, did the bare minimum to get by and then hightailed [it] to the Prime Rib or the Capital Grille.' "

Freddy won't even win the G.O.P.ers nomination. He will not be on the ticket. The other candidates don't like him. He's done.

Why don't you wait, and see who real Republicans vote for? Here's a clue. it won't be anyone the Democrats choose for them. But they will choose the winner, because Democrats don't have one leader in their entire field. They are still lamenting the loss of AlGore, their Patron Saint.

Freddy won't be picked then. He's not the winner.
