Ron Paul Introduces Bill to Restore the Constitution »
Posted By populist 1 year ago in NewsThis week Ron Paul introduced the 'American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007' to roll back the power of the federal government by restoring support for the US Constitution. The bill would, among other things, repeal the Military Commissions Act of 2006, prohibits "extraordinary rendition," and the use of secret evidence.

mntnman444: Thank you for the heads up. Important story as I see it. Thank you populist for the posting. I think the American public should force the congress and senate to vote on this. We should not let up. The more I read about Ron Paul. The more I am persuaded he may just be the best candidate. We need to restore constitutional rule to our country. The founding fathers knew the evil that could be wrought by a non-restricted leader. We are just beginning to see it in Bush. The next president could be so much worse.

He is the best candidate Grandpa. Hands down. In fact he may be our last, best chance as a nation, period.

I'm behind Ron Paul all the way on this. Could he start fixing America? I think he sincerely wants to try. Go Ron.

It's a shame this man is running on the republican ticket. He doesn't stand a chance in the primary, the majority of the conservatives i have talked to are so hyped on Fred Thompson and they think Ron Paul is a loose canon.
If he were to somehow win the primary, he would get my vote.

The thing that bugs me is why does it end up being a republican who is considered a whacko who focuses most on the constitution?Where are the dems? Why isn't reversal of the Bush constitution trashing policies at the center of attention in the dem debates?
I'm gonna be watching Hillary real close on this and I hope she fully supports it,otherwise it will show what kind of politician she really is.

mtnman444: Hillary will not vote for it. She sees what Bush has gotten away with andis drooling over the unlimited powers she would assume. There is no way I would ever elect her. I am relly not happy with most of the candidates as I see very few wanting to set things right. I think we are at a serious crossroad in American history. We as the voters need to step up and defeat the trash they are trying to give us.

The fact is Ron Paul is the only candidate which stands by the Constitution. Though I wish he could run as a Libertarian and actually get attention, only as a Republican has he had a chance to speak at debates and with the media.
Boy, Mr Kubby is all over the news. /sarcasm
Whatever happens, Dr Paul has put the Republicans on task to either stand up for the Constitution or continue on to fascism.

Make no mistake, Ron Paul has been saying the same thing for decades. His record is crystal clean perfect and consistent. He is as pure as they come.
One of my favorite quotes about Ron Paul, "You're working for the most honest man in Congress." That was John McCain speaking to Kent Snyder in 1988.

And that's my beef with Ron Paul - why go that far, and not go the rest of the way?
If you are going to repeal the Military Commissions Act, why not repeal the War Powers Act, while you are at it?
And simply going back to FISA is half-hearted, at best. Make it clear that no searches, ever cna be made of Americans, or persons of any nationality with the United States, without a warrant, and PROOF of probable cause. Not an affadavit by an FBI agant claiming probable cause, or a 'national security letter' - friggin' EVIDENCE.

One step at a time Obaku---are any of the other candidates stepping up to do or say they'll do anything even close to this? Things didn't become the way they are overnight and it's going to take a long time to fix. Shoot our president is calling for another war because he believes Iran wants to have the knowledge to create nuclear power.
I'm not saying that I disagree with you, I'm just saying that Ron Paul is only one man and look who he's up against. Patience my friend.
