He wants to form a new coalition, but didn't we help form the UN already?

The UN is a total failure or we wouldn't have the war we are in now. Saddam spit in the face of the U N 17 times. Right now Iran is ignoring them. What would Mitt do about the UN? Nothing. He is only saying this to garner a few votes.

Actually the UN had Saddam contained and disarmed his WMD programs as the ill-concieved US led invasion and occupation has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. In the words of the ex-President Bush as to why he didn't invade Iraq after kicking him out of Kuwait:

"..furthermore, we had been self-consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-cold war world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.'s mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the U.S. could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different--and perhaps barren--outcome."

Nice of the son to destroy what his father has worked so hard to establish huh?

Of course he thinks it's worthless. Anyone who doesn't bend to America's will is de facto worthless. And Romney knows that after our illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, virtually all chances of building international consensus around a US foreign policy objective is pretty much shot to hell. Thanks, Bush.

A new coalition of free nations?

              Of who?

We have already ******ed off almost all of the free world.
