A better and more accurate headline would read "Small groups engage in public political masturbation in 11 US cities"

Sub-head

"San Francisco responds with typical excess"

avatar

you wanna talk about small group? how about the small, and shrinking, group that still supports the bush administration?

in boston, on a lousy fall new england day, there were 10,000 of us.

And Just what was accomplished besides you getting wet and cold?

Are any votes in the Congress going to turn out differently?

Are Hillary or Obama going to change their position that US troops will be there for at least four more years?

Will the Democrat Party do anything more for you than pat you on the head and take your money and you vote?

I stand by my alternate headline.

come, come bobo. Only the rabid zioncons still really support bushie. They are about 20% of jews in america, which makes them less than 1% of americans - if one can call "israel-firsters" americans.

Why Does Norman Podhoretz Hate America?

World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism

Norman Podhoretz

Norman Podhoretz's new book, World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism, is a hate-filled, anti-American book of the first order. Podhoretz hates every American who does not support the neocons views, the foreign policy they have devised, and the military and national security disasters to which they are leading America.

Patrick Buchanan, Andrew J. Bacevich, Sir John Keegan, Brent Scowcroft, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Samuel Huntington, Francis Fukuyama, and many others are all targets of Podhoretz. These men are variously characterized as anti-Semites...

And who are the heroes of the story? Why, Podhoretz and the familiar roster of Israel-firsters: Paul Wolfowitz, R. James Woolsey, Charles Krauthammer, Douglas Feith, Victor Davis Hanson, John R. Bolton, Joseph Lieberman, Richard Perle, Robert Kagan, Max Boot, Steve Emerson, Daniel Pipes, Michael Rubin, Michael Ledeen, Kenneth Adelman, Frank Gaffney, and a few others who have battled so long and hard to ensure that America fights an endless war against Muslims in Israel's defense....

thank you very much indeed, yes i mustn't neglect my classes for my new advanced courses during this semester at graduate school, my second masters programe.

unfortunately, judging by your substandard language and communication skills alone, you should reconsider returning to school (junior-high?) for yourself.

a highschool diploma is within reach even for someone of your limited capabilities.

Spoken like an accomplished grad student. What's your focus. Peace Studies, Feminist Lit or possibly Art HerStory?

I'm sure that your creative language skills will prove invaluable when you transition from academe to the service industry.

ah hah, bingo your language, i knew i could do it for you dodo!!!

but no need to be bitter, just because you may be limited to doing the mcdonald's or janitorial sort of "service industry" jobs at present.

at least i see you've gotten hold of (work mate?) a college catalog, so dream on!

Your tactic is self-defeating. It is similar to a Catholic condemning any anti-Nazi opinion, by calling it anti-Catholic toxic waste. Nor is the Nazi comparison an exaggeration in this case. The main difference between the destruction of the Twin Trade Towers and the Reichstag fire is scale, and your criminal blindness makes you an accessory.

I am the first to admit that Christian Zionists played an essential role. First, Israel must reconquer all its ancient territories, then all Jews must return to Israel. Next comes the Rapture, the seven years of tribulations, the battle of Armageddon and finally: the Millennium.

Podhoretz and his chums are the men responsible for the lethal mess America now faces in the Muslim world, and they have also done more than any other group â;; Hamas and Hezbollah included â;; to undermine Israel's long-term security. In short, the influence and arrogance of this gang has been an unmitigated and accelerating disaster for the two nations they claim to love most. I will leave it up to those who read the book to decide which country they obviously love best, but I bet you can guess before turning a page....

Looks like you haven't grown up yet, then. After all, Codi is entitled to voice his opinion just as much as you. Most people figure that out when ... ahh, never mind, would be a waste of breath.

The biggest cowards and traitors in america are those that try to hide their ideology behind "support the troops". One should not forget that an ever increasing proportion of our troops are AGAINST bushies silly war. Indeed, it is unfortunate that the Reuters article did not underline this.

Iraq Veterans Against the War

IVAW to Show Military Opposition to the Iraq War on October 27

If you are a soldier or veteran who has served on active duty or in the Reserves or National Guard

since 9/11, and you are frustrated and angry with the way our military has been used and abused to wage an occupation against the people of Iraq, then know that you are not alone. On October 27th, veterans, soldiers, and citizens will gather in 11 cities around this country in a national expression of the breadth and depth of antiwar sentiment in this nation. One of the biggest gatherings of IVAW members will be in Boston...

When the hometown does not support the hometeam, that bugs me. And don't say you support the troops , and not the war. That is a load of crap. That is the PC way of spitting on the troops.

Congress don't want to win, the public only cares about the price of gas, and Brittany Spears and who will win Survivor.

If we would put politics aside for a minute, unite as a nation, and fight this war to win, it would had ended 2 years ago.

It is dishearting to be in country and watch crap like this on T.V. You don't understand what it does to morale.

You REALLY need to grow up and realize EVERYONE supports YOU.

It is NEVER ABOUT THE TEAM.

IT'S ABOUT THE STUPID GAME.

Quit your GD whining.

act like the ADULT you seem to think you are.

avatar
Reply

You may not like the game, but if you don't support the team in the game then all of this is lost. Your bio said that you are an avid gun owner. Which leads me to believe that you are a middle of the road kind a guy. You know there is a right and wrong and try to stay away from the gray areas. This is one of those gray areas. But it will get worse if we don't win this war.

The most dangerous thing in the world is a madman with as cause. Right now, there cause, there will is a lot stronger then ours.

And that's how it's gonna stay mack, most of us deep-down don't give two spits about you or the war. America's last imperial thrusts are gonna end up costing us big time, but it'll be in the future, so who cares right now?

This is a war of culture. This is the problem, no one thinks we are at war, but our enemy is at war with us. Thinking like this will cause us to lose.

Well, I do support the team.

I support them not getting killed for a liar named bush.

I usually am middle MOR on most things, I lust get tired of mislead people acting more like robots for bush.

BUSH HAS CREATED THE TERRORISM....

Now, that said. what to do? I don't think we can FULLY withdraw. We broke it WE fix it.

I say withdraw all but say 20,00 troops. Pull them back for training and support.

Let the iraqis die for THEIR country OR CHANGE it for the better.

I couldn't agree more. Why should our people die for someone else's country? It's stupid really. If they can't support their own country, so what? They turn lower class country. Let us then try helping them by sending food or clean water. Let's help in a way that prevents people from both sides dying. If they refuse help then, that's there problem.

Unfortunately for you, more than 65% of american troops have been AGAINST continuing bushies silly war since 2004. It seems that they are more in line with the real principles of american democracy than you.

Frankly if Congress doesn't hurry up and end the bushie follies, the troops are close to rebelling in the same way as they did in Vietnam.

A lie and not even a convincing one at that.

Just as telling, in this year's poll only 41 percent of the military said the U.S. should have gone to war in Iraq in the first place, down from 65 percent in 2003. That closely reflects the beliefs of the general population today â;; 45 percent agreed in a recent USA Today/Gallup poll.

The troops never rebelled in Vietnam. That was more media propaganda.

I am second to none in my hatred for the Bush administration, which started the war, after perpetrating Reichstag II. But let's use our words accurately, you want America to withdraw from the war, not end the war. For Iraqis the war will be deadlier than ever.

avatar

How could the war in Iraq have ended 2 years ago if there was no protesting in America? No matter how many battles our troops win, no matter how many 'bad guys' they kill, our troops can't make the Iraqi government do the job the Iraqi government needs to do themselves.

The surge is a success from our military perspective, but what has the Iraqi government done with this success?

avatar
Reply

smithichie - our troops can't make the Iraqi government do the job the Iraqi government needs to do themselves.

Maybe the Iraqi government doesn't like taking orders from us ..... You know, that democracy, sovereign state thing we've been toting these past few years? Ah, wouldn't it all be so much easier if we just said, "Jump!" and they asked, "How high?" Instead, we say "Jump!" and they just roll over and play dead.

[Footnote for the dimbulbs: this comment is sarcastic.]

Iraq has no government worthy of the name. Iraq needs to be a police state, preferably ruled by a sane man, not a crazy sadist like Saddam Hussein.

With that kinda of Idealogy, you would have supported Hilter in WWII if you were German. Last time I look, it was'nt the soldiers that started this war. There is a lot of shady things done by our administration to put us in this war. Some might even say this isnt a war but a occupation. Even further, some ones point of view might be that keeping our soldiers involved in some half mad politician's (that drank to much, did coke, barely could report to duty, assigned to home as a multitude of americans died over in vietnam, stold atleast one election, support fraudulent character assasignation of a vietnam vet, and invaded a soveriegn country under false pretense, totally forgeting about the people that bombed the twin towers), war, is a kick in the teeth.

END THE INVASION...

But don't send those IDIOT or COWARDLY soldiers back here!

And just in case anyone disputes they are IDIOTS or COWARDS, I submit they are:

1. COWARDS: becuz, any soldier who is AFRAID of a DISHONARBLE DISCHARGE or even 1-3 years in prison for refusing to kill innocent people,is a COWARD! and;

2. IDIOTS: becuz, any soldier who believes s/he is defending the USA by killing innocent people, is an IDIOT!
