Is he running for office? its when people like this say the tax rates are unfair, especially when its obviously extremely attractive to someone like him, that you have to wonder about the Bush policies of removing taxes from the wealthy in the hope that prosperity trickles down. in essence if you look at a lot of the boom economies that have existed in the US its not the trickle down but the bubble up that seems to spur things.

Tom: Are you surprised there's not more talk in this presidential campaign about economic fairness and economic justice?

Warren: "Yeah.....,it may be that everybody wants to be cautious-- while they're looking to get nominated,....... And I think it should be addressed. "

The above is an important statemet. It's telling us, despite the realities of unfair taxation, he aknowledges that it's under the radar because we're in a campaign season. And they are all apparently in agreement to keep this off the table, in words of Nancy P.

Because then all those wealthy corps that are dreaming to ensure the continuation of the staus qua and get to keep the policies that they've all already paid for in campaign contributions.

Political figures are bought and sold, and not about to bite the hands that feeds them. We are only worth a vote and beyond that, politicians are owned by corps.Gives new meaning to the term Campaigning for America's Future. As we aren't part of the pol. equation.

Continued. We will never make substantial positive changes to our political system, unless politicians actually stop being addicted to the power that Lobbyists provide.A politician wants to win and the lobbyists are both power pushers, for self and politicians. And today in order to play the game, Politicians use the same rhetoric of the past which once began maybe as honest statements, but has since been transformed into modern day BS , I'm for the People, Change in DC, and Accountability mantras. But not one of those politicians is willing to give up what they see as a sure bet to power.Lobbyists are pushers and politicians are nothing more than addicts. As it assures their seat in DC.It's viscous circle.

We need outlaw lobbying Those running, would get equal amounts from campaign pool which comes from fair tax laws Otherwise our domestic and foreign policies will remain as profit driven entities run by lobbyists.Which get pushed through via the politicians that were purchased

The Republicans are hard to beat in election campaigns because they ALWAYS run on cutting taxes. They ALWAYS promise they can do this without cutting services. They are ALWAYS going to do it by cutting government waste. Well, how's that working for you, America? National debt approaching $10 trillion.

Imagine for a moment taking over a large corporation, and boosting sales by promising your customers you would ALWAYS deliver more quality and features to them year after year and ALWAYS reduce the price as well. You'd sell like gangbusters, but drive the business into bankruptcy. The Republican lust for eternal power coupled with the gimmie pig attitude of most voters has driven this nation into bankruptcy.

I don't see the national will out there to deal with the soaring debt problem. We do need to raise taxes back where they were on the very wealthy, and keep the inheritance tax on amounts way up in the millions. But that alone is not enough.

What we need most of all is to cut spending. It's bound to hurt everyone, but it has to happen!

This nation spends so much in entitlements that it has become a national disgrace!
