"The U.S. media hyped about the quality of Chinese exports, causing serious damage to China's national image."

      Blah Blah Blah...

We will do nothing... as Walmart CEO might have to step down to life of semi-luxury. He may not even be able to afford new 500 feet yacht this year, and will have to wait till next year. What kind of freaking nightmare would that be.

I support RonP in that regards. We should exit WTO and have real trade agreement with all trade partners. Agreement that is good for both US and China.

Gee, I'm sorry to tell China that I can't be "handled." I won't buy their products, period. Granted, it's a pain in the @ss trying to find anything NOT made in China, but I'll survive.

You are right!! It is a pain trying to not buy anything made in China. I had no idea how much stuff comes from China until all the recalls started. I'm hoping the surge of made in the USA products is a trend that stays around.

I'm not sure it's possible to boycott China. Don't get me wrong, I agree with your sentiment.

Buy a U.S. made automobile and look at any of the electronics under the dash or under the hood and you'll see "Made in China" everywhere.

        Unavoidable.

you're not being reasonable, US toy makers Mattel admitted to making mistakes in designs, the blame must be shared. its childish to assume that everything made in china is unsafe.

Yes the Chinese agreed to stiffer food and drug exportation controls, so we should trust them. I don't think so.

What about computer hacking and stealing secrets concerning our nuclear and missile secrets. I don't trust them at all. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=... What makes me angry is our country has sent all those jobs out of our country when there are plenty of American's that would love to do them.

"The U.S. media hyped about the quality of Chinese exports, causing serious damage to China's national image," she said through an interpreter.

Gee...let me think for a minute....dangerous levels of lead in toys....chemicals on toys, that when wet turn into the date rape drug, poison in food for both human and animal consumption....and the list goes on. Who are we supposed to blame other than the people who made these products. When we buy their products, (especially when it's shoved in our face from all the superstores) don't they have an obligation to perform the highest quality control for the ones who purchase from them?

As for causing damage to China's national image...I think they pretty much did that to themselves.

It's the unfairness they exude when you trade with them. The Chinese leadership are as arrogant as Bush and meanwhile they lead our negotiators in these discussions. From their refusal to inflate the value of the Yen, piracy, unfair government subsidies. The Chinese do not act as a member nation but act only selfishly for their own self gratification.

Screw them and the world trade agreement they use to abuse.

Meanwhile the toys and crap we buy are turned into advanced nukes, armnaments and an expanded military for future controntations with America and what few true allies Bush leaves us with.

Not sure whether you hate the Chinese or the Japanese since the "yen" you refer to is the currency of Japan. You're as arrogant as Bill Clinton and as Ignorant as Jimmy Carter.

I'm not sure how a discussion on Chinese recalls turns into a Bush-bashing session, but I see that almost everything does for Bush-haters, yes?

If you think Hillary will be tough on China after they have provided so much in campaign contributions, it won't happen.

As for them confronting us militarily, I wouldn't worry about it that much... why would they attack their best customers?

Apparently some stores aren't even removing the recalled toys from the store shelves!

State Probe Finds Tainted Toys on Store Shelves

he C-P-B, with help from the Departments of Health and Agriculture and

Markets, conducted a sweep of 2,800 stores late this summer and fall looking for recalled toy products.

C-P-B Chair Mindy Bockstein says they found them.

"What we found was about 620 units of toys were still on store shelves. These were toys that were recalled and were unfortunetly still on store shelves," Bockstein told WNED.

Governor Spitzer is calling on the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission to immediately issue a national recall of newly identified products found during the state investigation.

America has to sleep in the bed they made. Outsourcing and moving operation overseas for cheap labor was a short term quick profit for the big corporations and the communist government. How much do them CEO's make plus bonuses? yes we get poisoned while they feast on milk and honey. Kerry had the right idea when he was going to penalize any American companies operating overseas...betcha them big rich corporations breathed a sigh of relief when their champion was shuffled through the back door into the white house Lol!!!!!...and your government can complain all they like but in reality the chinese are calling all the shots. Where can your bargain seeking shoppers get cheap stuff? A wise man once said " never put all your eggs in one basket" and that is what you have done, rely on cheap chinese stuff, so keep on paying and they'll keep on poisoning you fullas.

I think the US should get the message, after China turned our ships away at Thanksgiving.. those jerks are gonna start messing with the US more and more. The US needs to boycott all china made products. The American Public needs to make a stand, if china is in the label, don't buy it. I went shopping today, it was hard. Everything is made in china, even designer brands. I refused to buy Lauren today and I really wanted a couple of things made by Lauren. That china label was there, it stayed on the rack. It is time that WE Americans take the stand. Our gvt won't. so we have to in order to get OUR country and JOBS back.

Good for you. I hope that you are serious and continue your boycott. I have been trying this for the last 18 months. I hope more will join in. Take time to tell the store manager of your opinion. Everyone out there, BOYCOTT CHINA! BOYCOTT INDIA! BOYCOTT PAKISTAN!

INSIST ON MADE IN USA PRODUCTS!

It may take a while, but if enough of us take a stand, it will work! STOP FREE TRADE!

Well I would like to see our dollar gain some wealth and our Nation some independence from relying on other countries for our needs. I'm not talking about certain politicians that are using this as an issue. Fact of the matter is that they are the reasons we are in this mess and they know it. I really do not look forward into electing any of them back in to the office of any thing. If they care about this Nation so much they need to make restitution with their paychecks, seeing how they have enough lobby money in their hidden bank accounts, I doubt that it would put a dent in their survival like it has the ordinary citizen of America. I felt terrible when my next door neighbor had to put his poisoned dog down because he couldn't afford the veterinary. We have a lot of people that went through that trauma and then the children's cough medicine scare, the lead scares. They really don't want our business and they really do not like us at all.
