"What government run function for anything is better than a non government run one?"

"Social Security"

- Because Social Security is really Solvent... I know I'm not planning on it being available for me.

"Education"

- Do you know how much money is being spent per child, yet the graduation rate is still in the 80% range.

"Public Infrastruture"

- Worked well for the Minnesota bridge that collapsed not long ago didn't it. Infrastructure is in terrible shape and hasn't been updated in decades.

"IMO, healthcare"

- Hopefully it work just as well as the DMV :)

rich, you proved my point on infrastructure...

The actualy work on infrastructure IS done by the private sector. The government contracts that work out, and alot of times those are no-bid contracts.

The solution I see - instead of completely privatizing infrastructure - would be to hire project managers from industry. These managers could review the bids and know wether the bids are inline with what a job should cost or if the contractor is trying to charge quadruple(at taxpayers expense). They could also look at projected timelines to see if they are inline also.

Instead, we get contractors overcharging and doing shoddy work - ALL IN THE NAME OF PROFIT!!

But you support a party whose number one goal is to DESTROY the federal government. Isn't it just a bit hypocritical to go around gloating about the inefficiency of gubmint services while doing everything in your power to guarantee that it fails?
