  It isn't bad enough for Democrats to do nothing, they don't want anyone to do anything. They can make fools of themselves. Their approval rating ia all the way up to 21%now. Woohoo.

    I may be incorrect, but I believe the republicans have absolute control of what is done in the senate and thus congress since they have more than 40 votes.

    I believe any thinking person knows the reason nothing is getting done is the 59 fillibusters from the republican side of the isle and that is the reason for the low ratings for congress.

    Maybe you feel that people are stupid enough not to know who actually still controls the congress and will give them back even more power next year. I believe that enough voters know what is actually the case that these obstructionists will have even fewer in congress in 2009, and hopefully enough fewer that they can't hang up the senate.

  The Democrats have already proven they are spineless when confronting Bush. Both Reid and Pelosi are a joke and sham on America. Either they are in cahoots with the Repugnants or they have been threatened with bodily harm by Dick Cheney or lastly they want there corrupt pork barrel project supported. It's either one of these three. Just thinking of these jerks makes my blood boil.

    Or just maybe do you think the republican ability to block any and all items in the senate is the reason they cannot move forward. Also remember the republicans still have enough votes to prevent over-riding of a veto in the house as well.

    People are not dumb and will see who is actually obstructing the majority from doing what the people want. With that in mind look for a massive shift in power, similar but in opposite direction of the one in 1994, in the 2008 election.

  If the Senate would do what they are suppossed to do, consider and VOTE on the people that are nominated by the President to fill vacancies, then there would not be need to use the Senate break time(s) to appoint people to these open positions! I believe every nominee deserves to be questioned/heard on their qualifications for the job, and that the Senate NEEDS to vote on them... either up or down. If confirmed... great, get to work, if not then the President needs to find another qualified person.
