Way to go eco!
I see the smear Paul express is going full speed ahead in the last week. It's sad that the only candidate who even mentions the constitution is smeared as being a nut.
Just think how different things would be with a dem/rep congress trying to get bills past a president who bases all his actions on the constitution...now that would be real change!

I'm thinking very seriously about a similar move here in Massachusetts, Eco. We truly need someone who will tell the people why the Constitution isn't just an old piece of paper.

Paul has won more straw polls than any other candidate and has won every text vote in the debates,I see a very obvious attempt by the MSM to keep him down. How will the MSM pull it's foot out of it's mouth if Paul actually pulls an upset?

Ron is highly educated and experienced. He's the only conscious brain out there. (that may be a difficult concept for some folks to grasp!)

My biggest reservations about Ron Paul is...
(1)Scorched Earth policy on social programs:Wouldn't be as bad if he got all of our jobs back...otherwise it's real bad on the poor.
(2)Roe vs Wade
Reply-

mntnman4448 months ago
I totally disagree with him on Roe but he never fails to repeat that the president is not the king and he prefers to leave these decisions to the states which is what the constitution calls for.Citizens have much more access and control of their community at the local level.

if hillary makes it, i will take advantage of every social program i can get my hands on. it will be my right. who cares if it bankrupts our system. i want the govt to take care of me. and, why not? illegals do it!! ...and so will I!
and re: Roe v Wade,
ron Paul will not ammend the consitution. but, rather leave up to the individual states to decide their own laws regarding abortion. not the federal govt.

let us not forget, Ron Paul is an OB/GYN. How can we expect him to feel any different when his profession is based on human life?
I don't agree with him, but, aside from abortion, overall, he is the best man for the job of Presidency!

Supports a Constitutional Amendment for school prayer. (May 1997) OOPs. Where did that come from? He wants to change the constitution? Hmmm. How odd. Picks and chooses what he likes about it, does he? Or is he saying there really isn't a separation of church and state? Or...was that an appeasement for his base?
About that OB/GYN thing. You don't have a problem with someone who can't separate personal beliefs from Constitutional intent? I don't care what he thinks about when human life begins. I only care whether or not his beliefs would intrude on his responsibility to uphold the constitution. That's already been answered.
No, Paul is a politician. No better than the rest.

From the above link:
Q: What do you think of Social Security?
A: It's a mess. And it proves that the government is not very good at central economic planning, even for retirement. The money was taken from the people with good intention. We should do our best to return it to those that have taken it. But we need to allow the young people to just flat out get out of the system. Because, if you have the government managing these accounts, it's not going to work.
So...what happens to 25% of the population which is entering retirement over the next couple of decades? Any answers?

Each state should have it's own retirement fund that can be closely watched by the citizens.
Can you think of a federal agecy that has been competant?
Reply-

jordan118 months ago
OK. How do you implement that? All the money paid in through a lifetime of contributions....would the feds be giving that back to each individual to put into their states fund? And of course being retired, there's no money to add in, so what happens when that money runs out? Tax increases at the state level? What about the poor states? The rich states would no longer be subsidizing them through a federal pool. They couldn't possibly bear the cost of their retirees over time. Some poor states don't have the population to bear that burden. Same with education. Poor states depend on wealthy states through a federal pool. Do away with that education pool, and poor states are up the creek.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, all these things that Paul talks about are 'pretty' sounding, until you start dissecting them. And when I do that, I don't like what I see.
