I was going to comment, but after viewing the ad, why waste time? Sleasy...
I thought this was a fake ad when i first watched it due to how extreme it is in the fear mongering. Even for Rudy "I am 9/11" Giuliani, this one was over the top.
He's going to have 9/11 tatooed on his forehead...
with a mural of the twin towers on his left cheek....

TonyByron, your analogy and history are correct. This was not the first WTC bombing, but they buried their head in the sand and did nothing, in fact our embassies had been bombed in a number of places prior to this.
It was actually President Clinton who declared war on Osama and then Madlyn Albright convinced Clinton to warn the Pakistani government we were coming, who told him, then Osama declared war on America.
But we were too concerned about the constitutional rights of folks who were not Americans, who hated the U.S. to even do any prevention methods or intelligence. Bush sadly enough just inherited the mess. ( The movie "Charlie Wilson's War" is really worth watching. ) It does give a lot of historical perspective.

I can say some who have never been to war, nor served in a combat role, have no clue what not only the fear but the reaction to it have upon you. You might not only pee your pants but poop them as well, but if you do not kill your enemy, they will kill you. So dirty drawers and all, you will do your job. Everyone who has ever been in combat is scared. Anyone who says they weren't is either a liar or they were never there.

Actually he is fear mongering to get people who are afraid of their own shadows to vote for him. You folks will gladly give up your rights in exchange for a sense of security. At the end of the day, people like Rudy will take our rights and provide no security.

There are over 60 Mosques in the Houston area alone now, almost that many in the Chicago area. We've allowed them to build them here, but there is not one Christian Church in any of these countries. He has a valid point with islam being a danger, I don't know about any of his other politics, but he would have made a strong defense candidate. Unlike Osama will if he continues his unfortunate success of the past weekend.
How will he make a strong defense candidate? Bush invaded Iraq, Giuliani is going to invade the UAE? How about Bahrain? While making business deals with the Saudis & driving oil prices sky high?
I didn't say he would have been the best overall candidate. However, atleast he recognizes the threat from islamofascists. Most of the other candidates refuse to touch that subject or to acknowledge it. RG did have first hand experience in dealing with the issues related to security following 9/11, none of the other candidates had that first hand experience.
No violent conflict is ever won without an appropriate mix of defense and an offense. We need to target enemy in their playing field while also cleaning house within our own borders, tightening border security etc.
The fact that he approved this ad reflects very poorly on him though and not likely to get my vote unless his opponent is much worse than him.

Is Giuliani going to invade a country like Iraq which had nothing to do w/Terrorism per se? & direct our troops to die in a a war in a ME country for oil/profits for Bush/Cheney etc.? Is Giuliani, like Bush/Cheney have done, going to give a green signal to companies like Halliburton? So they can establish offices in Asia where they can sell oil @ twice the market rate? Which is a lot more then the Iraqis sold the oil for in Asia before Bush invaded Iraq? Is Giuliani going to give PM Musharaf billions to fight a war against "Terror" which Musharraf is certainly not going to take any part in?
No Ghouliani would have made a strong offensive not defensive candidate. We need to be on the defense - not on the offense as Ghouliani would have it.
