  This is either plain stupidity or we have some people in our government that are leaning toward being socialists. Nancy Pelosi and Charlie Rangel at their best?

    I think it is pretty obvious that it is the later. Some are not in hiding anymore and their socialist agenda is in the open for all to see. For example: Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is the current junior United States Senator from Vermont. Sanders was elected on November 7, 2006, and is presently a member of the 110th United States Congress. Before becoming Senator, Sanders represented Vermont's at-large district in the United States House of Representatives for 16 years.

    Sanders is a self-described democratic socialist, but because he does not belong to a formal political party he appears as an independent on the ballot.

      If socialism, and taxing the rich to take care of the less rich, is the only choice to the corporate-friendly fascism, and making dynastic successions of rich families at the expense of the poor, I'm all for socialism.

      At least we know that socialism can work.

      I'm not a liberal, nor conservative, but I think the social strata of the US would be better if it reflected the likes of Norway, Sweden or other northern european countries, rather than what we find in the third world, complete with strife and truly poor people controlled by a few rich.

      Of course, you might be a "middle class" republican and think differently. *chuckle*

  Thanks, Wolfie, I needed to name them something! But may I share some tibits I picked-up in Panama, Central America? The patriotic CIA, those un-sung heros, have been meddling in South America affairs for forty-years, or more. Why do you think that after all these years, no South American country trusts those "boys in black? They surely don't trust Georgie (Walker (el Whackoo) Bush), daddy, Georgie, or Jeb. Why, you should ask? Because the Contras in Columbia aren't seen as saviors. Rather, they think the Contras and the SOA (School of Americas, formed by dear Daddy) were killers. So bad, Congress banned all support to both groups because they did a real no-no. Hint, Manual Norriega was the first graduate. He served Bush very well, until the Iran Contra affair. Seems poor Manual thought he had a guarantee to immunity...until junior showed-up with his CIA pals. Odd that no one has heard a word from Manual. The locals think that was to silence his mouth.
