The story that's at the center of the storm today is this one from Ronald Kessler at the conservative-oriented NewsMax.com. "Obama attended hate America sermon," it's headlined. NewsMax has now posted a "clarification" that says its reporter can't give a specific date of when this was supposed to have happened.

But he WAS in Chicago that day too. Maybe not in the church, that's what his camp says...of course they implied he was in Miami all day, so maybe not.

Here is a pdf of a church bulletin for January 2007. You can get a flavor for the church.

I guess Barack never saw anything like these either? That's why he tried to distance himself from his pastor at the beginning of his presidential campaign...right?

ROFLMAO, this is almost as good as the faithfuls defense of Limpaw after he called soldiers who disagreed with Iraq traitors.

Gotta luv the righties trying to claim since his pastor said this Obama MUST be just like that. But then again we have a party who's front runner was declared to be slightly out of sync due to his captivity during Vietnam and you sure wouldnt want someone like that in charge.

      Another one worth reading:

      http://www.tucc.org/upload/tuccbulletin_mar18.pdf

It shows that Barack was the cover story for the Church's magazine "The Trumpet". It also has an open letter to the NYT with Wright's blistering critique of the NYT writers story about him (Wright) being dis-invited to do the invocation when Barack announced his candidacy

OF course! But then NewsMax isn't even really a legitimate source of news... It is conservative OPINION journalism, much the same as another source mistakenly confused for news: the FOX News Channel!

NewsMax, much like WorldNetDaily, is nothing more than a conservative version of the National Enquirer. I really do not get how people buy into this junk. Even worse though, is that the mainstream media is giving this coverage without checking the facts first.

It looks like Obama isn't going to tolerate the sleaze tactics of the 'wrong' wing. How refreshing.

FTA: "Kessler said NewsMax will be posting a new story about this shortly." So, let's see if NewsMax can defend its story or not. Should be interesting.

They said it was a specific date that the sermon took place. Now we are finding out that, not only was Obama in Miami on that date, but that newsmax is now saying the Journo can't even remember what date it actually occured? Come on, there is nothing to defend.. They screwed up big time because they were too busy trying to smear a candidate with false reporting...

Just because he had the date wrong doesn't prove it never happened. It just didn't happen on July 22.

How quick you are to make excuses for this kind of mistake when it promotes your agenda, aniokly. If a story citing an incorrect date about something related to McCain or Bush came from, say, MoveOn, would you make the same kind of statement?

You are correct that it doesn't prove that it didn't happen.

It certainly doesn't establish that it did happen.

Actually, the story was about a particular event that occurred on a particular date.

So, uh, yeah. It most certainly DOES prove that it never happened.

Does anyone remember Dan Rather's downfall? Wasn't his report based on an obviously forged document? And didn't all the Bush-bashers say it was irrelevant that the document was forged, the story was still true? It seems to me a forged document is much more serious than someone getting a date wrong.

Besides, totally discarding the article, it's hard to believe Obama attended that church for 20 years, married by this pastor who also baptized his children, and still had no clue what his racist attitudes were.

The point is the dude wasn't there and if Zombie McCain can't be held responsible for what comes out of that idiot Hagee's jack whole then why should Barack be held responsible for what Pastor Wright says? Trust me, dude is saying nothing that's not said in a lot of other Afrocentric themed churches and homes
