"Campaign money, usually a Republican strong suit, also is flowing to the Democrats this season. In the most recent reports, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had $34 million on hand, compared with $4 million for the NRCC, its GOP counterpart."

While you are at it, take a look at some of the foundational lies that led the current RepugniCon bunch away from true Republican values.

1 - As the only remaining superpower, we can and SHOULD grab whatever we want.

Result? Unger their watch, the RepugniCons have taken us from the most admired nation on earth to the most hated. Even a superpower can't stand up to the other 95% of the population of earth.

2 - Lower taxes stimulate the economy so much, the lower they go, the more the federal government earns.

Result? Our national debt is on track to top out at 10 trillion dollars before we get rid of the smirking chimp, and it will balloon to 12 trillion at a minimum based on the long term costs of his failed Iraq "strategy".

3 - America has the best health care system in the world. So why fix it if it ain't broke?

Result? We're number 37 in health care when viewed by infant mortality, longevity, deaths from childbirth, deaths from presentable cause.

        That depends.

Hopefully, the new president will possess the fortitude to dismantle the K-street project and enact even stricter laws regulating (or banning) the activity of lobbyists.

Obama, for example, doesn't accept money from lobbyists in D.C. And McCain has outlined his plan to make all earmarks illegal.

Congress is not going to completely cut themselves off from bribes (reelection funds). That is money that if not used can be diverted to their own account when they leave congress.

That is unfortunately true, although even then the new president may be able to use his veto power and bully pulpit to limit blatant Congressional favors.

"how else do you explain a Reagan 49 state LANDSLIDE?)"

And his 40 state, 489 Electoral Vote landslide 4 years earlier? Simple - he brought hope to a tired, defeated nation.

All money left over from campaigns should not go to the candidate, win or lose, but back to the people in the form of charity, a much better use than candidate's pockets. But I know this won't happen.

This is most unfortunate. A one party country is not a good thing, as the republican-controlled government of 2001-2005 has shown - there needs to be balance.

If there need be a balance, it is NOT the gop that can be trusted with the task.

When will you ever learn? What do you need to be convinced?

Maybe the problem wasn't that one party was involved. Maybe the problem was that GEORGE BUSH was in charge.

Balance does not mean having a Republican party that is represented by extremist right wing nut-jobs and religious fanatics who care nothing about our constitution and the separation of church and state. Look where that has brought us!

SC: That's true but the democrats haven't done anything worth while since they were but in charge of the Congress. Knuckling under is not an accomplishment, nor a good thing. True they have a slim margin but to not even stand for something even if one can't win is the worse kind of cowardice. To be afraid of failure only leads to failure as they have so adequately demonstrated.

The old excuse are just that "old". Not doing something because they might be seen as not supporting the troops for political reasons doesn't cut it. You support the troops by bringing them home and using the 10 Billion dollars on repairing the roads and bridges, etc. here at home. Nothing but BS has come out of Washington for years. Neither a Democratic or Republican has, or will lived up to the oath they took.

Lets face the truth. It won't matter who is elected to what office. Nothing, or very little will be accomplished no matter whom is elected. We are nothing but but pockets for them to pick.

I'd rather be punched in the stomach then stabbed in the eye.

So the Dems having a larger majority is better than having the Repugs in power, but the Dems are still too afraid to push a populist agenda or hold anyone accountable. Better? Yeah, if only incrementally.

I'd rather have democrats than republicans based on the past 28 years. That said I'm not a fan of either. Because they both could care less about what is truly needed.

Not handouts but real work and a future including a return of mfg. jobs to America. Not a service based republican economy, or a welfare based democratic one.

Dam* it put people to work repairing and building our nation again.

We lose when we allow the congress, senate and president to screw us for the wealthy's gain.

Our country has become lazy with entitlements. Entitlements such as welfare without strings attached to both the rich and the poor.

Dream on. A vote for McCain is a vote for the continuation of the Bush Presidency. Something the country will not stand for. (Well except for the 29%ers.....)

Why should there be republicans in the office??? After 2 consecutive years of republicans, what good has come to our nation??????????????????

                        BUCKHEADD FOR PRESIDENT 2008!

$PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT$ As of 3/23/08, ALPHAGNOSIS has not been fired. Although I,Buckheadd, was planning on doing it because of her support to Bush, I will not. STONERS and ENGINEER are supporting me SILENTLY, and I have not heard from them in a while. I am growing disappointed with my campaign members but I am not planning on firing any of them. Last week, bronxbomber and ranchhand were fired, as all of you should know by now. ~I am still looking for more members to be a part of my campaign, message me if you are interested~

Frankly, I would rather see an Obama President and Republican Legislature (if necessary) then a McCain President and a Democratic Legislature.

The chance that Obama would be willing to listen to Republicans to get their help (I think) is more likely then the chance that McCain will even TRY to listen to Democrats to get their support (not unlike the CURRENT President). The simple fact that he has NO intention of changing course in Iraq even though nearly 3/4 of Americans believe we are following the wrong path just proves that he no more a 'uniter' then GWB was.

On what do you base that? McCain is good friends with many Senate Democrats and has already co-sponsored legislation with several of them. Obama is a hardline leftist with a soft voice. He has accomplished ZERO in the Senate.
