Here is a list of John McCain's Biggest Flip-Flops. It's not exactly a newsflash that McCain is veering ridiculously to the right in a rather shameless attempt to reinvent himself. Now is the time to begin characterizing McCain ââ;¬" accurately ââ;¬" as a man with no principle belief

    In a related article:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/03/us/politics/0...

"McCain likes to present himself as the candidate of the "Straight Talk Express" who does not pander to voters or change his positions with the political breeze. But the fine print of his record in the Senate indicates that he has been a lot less consistent on some of his signature issues than he has presented himself to be so far in his presidential campaign.

Mr. McCain, who derided his onetime Republican competitor Mitt Romney for his political mutability, has himself meandered over the years from position to position on some topics, particularly as he has tried to court the conservatives who have long distrusted him. His most striking turnaround has been on the Bush tax cuts, which he voted against twice but now wants to make permanent. Mr. McCain has also expressed varying positions on immigration, torture, abortion and Donald H. Rumsfeld, the former defense secretary."

McCain is so power hungry to be president, he will do or say anything he thinks it will take to be president.

He is not only selling his own soul, ethics, and convictions down the river to the highest bidder, he is selling your the future prosperity and safety or your children for his own personal gain.

Bush taught McCain what side his bread is buttered on, and its the side that sells out America.

      RYAN:

"hey DEMS, wake up! in this election cycle your going to get whatever you want. does not matter who the pres is. DUH. all three are the same, except the war."

"all three are the same, except the war."

"THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GET OUT ON THEIR WATCH."

Which would mean all three are the same, INCLUDING the war.

Except that McCain will say the war was a good idea and he's staying the course. Obama and Hill will say it was an awful idea but now they are forced to stay the course.

Neither the dims or the repugs offer an alternative to the endless war - they just want to be the ones presiding over it.

Not me! I am glad the Republicans picked a senile, bitter old man as their nominee. I am looking forward to see Sen Obama systematically picking him apart in the debates. We may even get to experience his notorious temper on primetime TV. LOL

"But therein lies the point â;; McCain was consistent on most of these issues, right up until he started running for president, at which point he conveniently abandoned practically every position he used to hold. The problem isn't just the incessant flip-flops; it's the shameless pandering and hollow convictions behind the incessant flip-flops."

This last paragraph sums up the article. We really don't NEED a president who wants to be president that badly.

            Hey, I noticed that too!

He USED to sound normal. But I guess he realized he had to appeal to the loud, extremeist gasbags that have come to define our political right.

Can't wait for the debates. With some of the gaffs he's made on the Iraq war recently (which is supposed to be his strength) I think he will be torn apart.

Nobody has spent more time talking about knowing so much about Iraq while knowing so little.

The guy has been wrong on nearly every point, and THIS is his strong point.

Geez, when he says he is weak on economics, uh, I shudder!

What's sad, and frankly FREIGHTING,is if you read the comments on the 'Rice for VP' post the Republicans don't CARE.

They don't care that....McCain changes his position to suit the election....McCain has been in GOVERNMENT longer then he was in the Military (yet knows NOTHING about anything but war)....McCain war knowledge isn't NEARLY as vast as he would like to lead everyone to believe (since the 'one trick pony' gets the participants WRONG more then RIGHT).

McCain flops around like a fish out of water, then in some of his speeches, he sounds like a mina bird, repeating everything Bush has already said a million times.

Yeah but he makes up for the lack of knowledge, the lack of integrity, the lack of understanding, the lack of critical thinking skills, the lack of economics skills, the lack of control, and the abundance of power-thirst and arrogance...

                  ...with his keen wit.

lmao. I just couldn`t help myself on that one.

Get this! The cons are still trying to claim McCain never said `100 Years`!

                    lmao.

Oh the desperately gullible...or is that gullibly desperate??

Now let's be fair-they claim that he never said 100 years OF WAR.

The problem is...although he said 'as long as our soldiers aren't in harms way' then in the next breath says 'we can't leave as long as violence is on the rise.'

Since history in the region indicates that there will be VIOLENCE for the NEXT 100 years like the PAST 100 years (unlike any other place in the world) it's pretty easy to connect the dots....

'can't leave while there is violence' violence probable for the next hundred years = can't leave for the next hundred years while soldiers are still faced with violence.

                        >Now let's be fair-they claim that he never said 100 years OF WAR.

He said he would be fine if our forces continued to be there in Iraq as they are now for 100 years. If this isn`t war, I am living in a neocon fantasy.

Whatever he added or tried to spin or excuse away later, his first reaction when the reporter asked him how he would feel if our troops were there for 50 years, McCain flippantly replied `how about 100 years`. He`s a military brat turned gold-digger turned flip-flopping self-entitlement project.

He believes he deserves to be president for the same reasons Hillary does, he is `entitled` to it.

The Irish and the Brits have been fighting since the Brits invaded. That was 900 years ago. For a military man, McCain doesn`t know crappe about military history.

Does McCain have any ideas how he will pay for his unfunded 100 year war?

                        Didn`t think so.

Saw McCain on TV news the other night. He acted insulted and hurt that somebody called him a war monger, and naturally in neocon fashion he blamed somebody else`s words on Obama.

Anyway, in one breathe he whined about being called a war monger, then, with a straight face, in the next breathe he described his agenda for increasing the size of the military for future needs.

                      Amazing.

Well, I guess from a guy who`s lived off other people`s earnings all his life, I suppose it is not really entirely his fault for not having a clue how the real world works. You know, how people actually have to work to earn money to pay bills and taxes.

Speaking of taxes, how much in taxes is he planning on taking from the working class and putting into his own pocket again?

Change what...looks like he is perpetrating the same old Civil War rhetoric and Hatred. Sorry Hussein, nobody is alive from that era and if you are so into change why do your children need to hear the same old race-baiting spew? All gold plated BULL$HIT from an Illinois cookie cutter, con-man who has never run more than his mouth.

FTA: "For its part, the McCain campaign told the Times that the senator 'has evolved rather than switched positions in his 25-year career.' "

So according to the RepugniCons, evolution is a great big lie except in politics, where we know that nobody ever lies.

Hasn't anyone noted the Republicans always claim "it's the Democrats" while doing the exact thing they claim the Democrats did? Besides, any man who endured five damned years being tortured, had the gall to endorse waterboarding?

The dude is short on brains! The only difference is McCain was brain-washed by the Republicans; not the VC...
