I'd like to put my name in the hat for Minister of Sinister.

Apropos since sinister means "from the left".

Nice Idea .

Good stuff. Now, we shall see...

There is already a Propeller Chat forum. Why should we join up to a new one that is not officially affiliated to the Propeller site?

Just asking

You know, I'm now asking myself the same question.

Okay, I've thought about it some more and I can think of a couple of good reasons to have a forum outside of the Propeller community that talks about Propeller.

It isn't run by the Propeller staff so on the forum we aren't beholden to the TOU of Propeller. Now, the forum has it's own TOU which are similar, but we can run our smack about Propeller without fear of reprisal. I don't think the Staff acts like that, but some people do.

Another good reason is that we can chat with each other on there about topics that are important to Propeller, but that may not be pertinent at the time. Upgrades, things they might do differently, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Just a couple of ideas.

That is precisely the idea with the forum. To have everyone's opinions, questions/concerns, and so on aggregated in one forum and accessible all the time. Also, the forum allows us to discuss anything and everything without disrupting the flow of news on Propeller.com.

Thanks,

Mu.

Now THAT'S a good idea!

Well, I've gone in to the Propeller chat about eight times and there's never anyone in the room. Why is that?

And when I tried to go into this one, I was told my user name did not exist!

avatar
Reply

lol, my name doesn't exist either. I like things simple in my old age, & along come these young upstarts to confuse me, or maybe they just don't want me in their club, lol!

Its probably because a good portion of propeller users are smoking dope, protesting Darfur, or China controlled Tibet. When the next world issue arises that has nothing to do with our safety, they will be dealing with that. If the shoe don't fit, don't wear it.

Lincoln you don't need to smoke dope..you're naturally ingrained in it.

So is you're same sex girlfriend "CRAP7"

Dang Bronx....

Yo Linc! The shoe don't fit 'cause you're mouth is too big.

Pretty cool!

avatar

Please---tell me this isn't the new site!

avatar
Reply

No. It isn't. There, problem solved. LOL>>>

It's an outside forum. Might be nice to use once in awhile though.

avatar
Reply

Thanks Bkumm---I was worried there for a min. I like our way of communicating here at propeller.com. I also like our look and layout.

avatar
Reply

Meeee tooo!!! I'm not a big fan of the way those kinds of forums look.

avatar
Reply

I'm interested to see where this goes.

avatar

Probably the same place your moronic comments belong: in the gutter.

Do you know that by posting the link to that extremely pornographic you so shamefully put on the legitimate discussion on liberal talk radio, you open yourself up to prosecution? If some kid links on that, you are in big trouble, idiot LOL

Ah, you're just mad because you got found out. ;)

great idea to listen to your community.

The registration page does not indicate who created and who operates this forum. It announces that it will collect information from me and place a tracking cookie in my computer, but I have no idea who will be able to access that information.

It does not indicate that there is any connection with the management of Propeller. Will Tom Drapeau and James Marcus join this new forum and become more aware of the concerns of Propeller members, or is this simply a place where members will interact outside the Propeller forum, with no apparent prospect of having their concerns addressed by Propeller management and staff? If that is the case, what exactly is the new forum's purpose?

Are any of the members of the "Gang of Four," who have previously indicated a desire to control and direct the direction of the Propeller site, associated in any way with this new site.

As SonOfTheMask says, "Just asking."

I'll answer the last one. Your paranoid delusions of the editors of Propellertalk wanting to "take over", aside, none of the editors of Propellertalk are involved in the Propellerchat forum as far as I know.

There may be some talking going on behind the scenes of which I am unaware between people that know each other on a more personal basis, but I am certainly not involved in the creation of this new site. However, I am a member because I think it's a good idea. You should join too.

Hi Oscar, I created this forum and there is no connection with the management of Propeller. The management of Propeller however plans on participating on this forum to address the concerns of the community.

avatar
Reply

Is it your creation alone, or are others involved? Who?

The idea of a forum where Propeller management can "address the concerns of the community" is a good one. But without their participation, I don't think that the new site will be very useful.

With that in mind, I will withhold judgment until I see this site in action. Good luck, msaleem. I hope it woks.

avatar
Reply

As msaleem notes above, the creation of this forum was his initiative. I will be registering to participate, as will Tom Drapeau and (I would guess) other Propeller staffers. We don't want to intrude on a resource designed primarily for the community. We are, however, eager to address the concerns raised in those discussions, and take part in them whenever appropriate.

As for the forum placing a cookie on your computer--there's no other way for the software to recognize returning participants. The information gathered (simply an email address and password, I assume) will be shared with nobody. I'm sure msaleem would be happy to answer any further questions about security and privacy policies on the forum.

I hope this works. It's a great idea...and no one better than msaleem to get it going.

Thanks msaleem...one step at a time.

This is great! I love it! Registered, commented, and it certainly is a fresh breath of air. My thanks to all concerned for making this possible. Glad to see the website running a little bit better than the last time I was here. So special kudo's to the staff for they're attention. Have a great weekend everybody! I especially missed all my buds here.

What I don't miss is "CRAP7" and others like him in their quest on finding new ways of being stupid, and yellow with they're 'flyby neg-voting' *KMA*
