First two items for the Obama war machine:
1. How do we undo reality?
2. how do we keep the words that come tumbling out of Obama's mouth from meaning what their plainly understood meaning is?
Lot's of luck, Bammy.

He'll be too busy heading for the bunker to sing.
With all the things he's said about war and how he will deal with it all, now he wants us to think he'll be a strong CIC?

Maybe he will let his VP write his foreign policy like the current occupant! He won't be a blank slate to be written all over as GW Bush was and still is! Nor will he have neocons doing the writing. You simply do not know how someone will respond as C-in-C until they are in the office. Of course Obama will have to compromise on his ideas, all good politicians do this. And we need to learn diplomacy again. What has this State Dept. done in the last 7 years? Nothing, because Cheney has essentially prevented the use of diplomacy.
The situation in Iraq does not allow for a rapid withdrawal and we all know no matter who is elected that is not going to happen. The neocons never want to leave. That is not part of their plan and they will be damned if we are just going to turn over the large permanent bases we have erected.

It is true that Obama referred to guns and religion as wedge issues people use to divide and distract from actual matters that would affect people, how "true" is it to assume he is anti gun and anti religion. I can't tell you how many chain e mails I've received claiming Obama is a secret muslim, he hates America, etc. Every one of these nonsensical notions is thoroughly debunked on sites like snopes.com yet people still forward them. Ironically I've recieved 0 emails claiming anything about Clinton or McCain. Campaigns rely on shadow groups who can hide from scrutiny such as the swiftboaters. This is sadly a more and more important factor in American politics.
(this was a response to Endoscopy below, sorry.)

The first thing to consider is whether they are truthful or not. If truthful then we need to take them into consideration because they are an issue. If not ignore them. That is what free speech is all about.
When George Washington ran for his second term allegations of being a traitor were passed around. Those false allegations went nowhere but they were allowed to be said and printed.

Swiftboating (IMHO) is a new noun that means attacks that are atrocious lies, not truth.
Free speech is a wonderful thing, but their are limits to that right. Unfortunately, slander and libel in a political race is not only historically permitted, but has been raised to new levels by the repug slime machine in the last few election cycles.
These new levels of slime are perpetrated by the Rush limpjaws and right wing screech radio. Of course, the sliming wouldn't be complete without Fux news. Fux news went to court for the right to lie in their news stories.
I am a strong believer in free speech, but I think that victims of slander, libel and defamation should have some legal recourse. Knowing there are serious consequences would give wannabe swiftboaters pause.

We need to know everything about a candidate to make a decision about who to vote for. It is not negative reporting if the information is true. Did this guy sit in church for 20 years while an old Black Nationalist cursed, and damned the very country he wants to be President of? Yes. Does he have radical friends like Arab business men, Mr Rezko, Mr Auchi, and a man with close ties to the PLO, Mr Khalidi who want us to surrender in Iraq? Yes. Does he look down his nose at ordinary Americans when he is in the presence of his rich friends? Yes. He thinks there is something wrong with people who have guns to protect themselves, and people who regularly attend Church service. The Democrats must do better then this flawed candidate to compete in the General election, and they know it.

As usual, you buy all the poison. This is not who Barack Obama is. As for Rezko any politician in Chicago who does not have contact with some type of slimeball probably has locked themselves in a closet and wont come out. And Rev. Wright? You completely mistate the case. Most of his sermons contain no such speech. You didn't and will never listen to Obama's clear explanation. I recited to you the tale of my rascist gramdmother but you didn't listen.
No, you would rather have Bush III? Let's see if we can bring this country to it's knees in four more years?
The associations you raise with the PLO are so far fetched as to lead me to ignore your post. America has bowed at the feet of Israel for years. It has brought us little good. A fair reassessment of our Middle East policy is due on Day One in the White House, whoever the candidate. You won't see one from the McCain crowd. They will only offer continued diplomacy(sic)at the point of a gun.

In October 2006, Rezko was indicted along with Republican fundraiser and businessman Stuart Levine on charges of wire fraud, bribery, money laundering, and attempted extortion. Levine pled guilty and agreed to testify against Rezko. While the charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison, Levine expects to receive about a 5-1/2 year sentence in return for his testimony.

"It is not negative reporting if the information is true. "
Then again what's "true." Certainly not your silly statement about his pastor cursing and damning the US. Unless you're a low-context moron. Which I suspect you are. As for having Arab friends, you have no further to look than Bush who's best buddies with the Bin Ladens and the House of Saud -- who provided just about every 9/11 hijacker with their passports and assisted with their visas and funding.
"Does he look down his nose at ordinary Americans when he is in the presence of his rich friends?"
Bush? Yes.
Stop spreading your silly lies. People see through them when they look. You're just making it hard to elect your alzheimers president who will sink us further in debt to reward the rich.

do you seriously want to open that can of worms with your candidate mcCain?
It's one thing to be associated with people who do messed up things, it's another to actual do messed up things.
McCain sought out the support of Paster Hagee who preaches about the destruction of the world - rapture - and how the US mus accelerate it through war with Iran.
McCain was one of the Keating 5 in the Savings and Loan scandal,
McCain is breaking his own campagin finance laws,
McCain did fund and arm the KLA, a radical muslim army,
McCain did vote against the GI Bill,
McCain did vote agains the Bush tax cuts and now is for it,
McCain did vote against a minimum wage increase
and there is more .... and we will go on.
