1968 - Drunken AWOL cheerleader stumbles to Texas and proceeds to bankrupt a series of business ventures eventually he is rewarded with the Governorship.
2008 - Brain damaged fool has been "selected" to the highest office in the land by chickenhawk cheerleaders and drunks.
OOPs I forgot it was supposed to be funny.

"What happened to our innocence?" Love does not make the world go round, it is money -- especially when taling about politics and power. That is why I posted the "$" symbol.
My son needed me and I could not finish posting my comment, so I typed in the "$"; sorry about that.
At least I found the "z" funnny...

Interesting discussion, Mr. CC. Yesterday on KPFA's "Against the Grain," Yale scholar Emmanuel Wallerstein opined that 1968 was the apex of U.S. hegemony.
http://www.againstthegrain.org/
That was about the time that the neocons started up. Spadecaller's $ is appropriate because Wallerstein says Capitalism is doomed and is a big reason for U.S. decline. Capitalism uses stuff up, and there's only so much, so what do you do when your resources are gone? What do you do after you've proven not once but twice (Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan) that the world's most powerful military can be defeated?

You play Steppenwolfs , " The Ostrich " , on your turntable and take another hit .
It really is time for a different political arangement . This two [ or four or whatever number ] system just isn't working out . I don't think my Kids great , great , great , grandchildern will be able to bail out the financial mess we are in . We should just zero out the books like [ I believeit was ] Citibank did with Brazil in the mid seventies and then continue to print more money to make it look like we are ahead [ in the black , so to say ] .
