What a bunch of haters. A guy does well in the primary election and look at all the haters that come out! He's electable, period. He made that point last night to Clinton. He got votes where there were grave doubts due to the Wright controversy. Instead of people lauding him on this great achievement, they bring up the race card again. They call him a Muslim. They call him unpatriotic. They make blanket insults against the entire black race in hopes that some of the smear will rub off on Obama. This should be a day for celebration. A celebration that our electoral process is working and the people of America are being heard. Instead, there is "sour grapes" and people that label Obama supporters as koolaid drinkers to imbeciles. I have sadly been able to firsthand experience the divisiveness that contributes to the overwhelming attitude that divides this country and makes us vote against our best interests.

Thats your fault, assuming the american system is meant to actively and efficiently affect change.

Obama will win the nomination because he is to lose against McCain. this process is scripted like Wrestling.

He will be the Kerry to McCain.

If he actually fits your views then great. I personally think he is power hungry and wants to be the first black president, even though he is half black.

Our political process is akin to electing the prom king and queen. Obama;s actual policies are idealistic and expensive.

Our political process is broken. We only have 2 parties that are allowed to run for president. The law makers have made it impossible for 3rd parties to actually win an election.

good luck with obama

My fault? LMAO! he does fit a lot of my views more closely than other candidates. Actually, I would have been much happier with a Kuccinich, Edwards, or Even Ron Paul. Those options aren't possible at this point. If by giving some control back to the middle class of this country, I somehow appear socialist or communist, that's to bad. If we really want effective change in this country we do need to open it up to more parties, I agree on that point. I don't think there should be any fundraising at all. The government should allocate the funding and all should get the same amount. Some might think that's more socialism, and wouldn't agree. As long as people need money and lots of it to run these campaigns, the system will remain the same. Thanks Origin, for wishing me luck. I agree our political process is broken and there are no foreseeable solutions to this problem.

Im ALL for giving control back to the middle class. We are "the people" the government. However, that wont happen without a revolution. The constitution needs an amendment to illegalize all political parties, first and foremost. They are not mentioned in the constitution for a reason. Next we need to outlaw "organized group lobbying". A human has rights. Groups are NOT individuals and as such should not be afforded any right to free expression under the constitution. That goes for ALL groups, whether gay rights, religious rights, satanic groups, gun groups, etc. Campaigning should be free to the candidate out of a public trust fund that is a tax on all broadcasters and media outlets that charge advertising rates to its clients. And lastly, if a president doesnt live up to their campaign promises then they should be impeached. Why do we have to wait 4 years to "fire" an underperformer?

It's been 7 and a half years.

We should be able to fire a president when they dont do what their supposed to do.. like me at work.

I agree. Some system whereby our representatives can express 'no confidence' in the President. I'd like to see the lifetime tenure of Supreme Court Justices rescinded as well. While we're at it, ban the filibuster and demand that all bills before Congress are 'single issue' bills with no possibility of tangental pork added as amendments.

Unscrupulous people political ideologists would badger the sitting president to death(like they did Clinton). He wouldn't be able to do his job. I think a vote should be held in the country to establish whether a President ought to be investigated. If greater than 60% of the people feel an investigation is warranted. Congress and the judiciary should be compelled to action. The President should have no veto authority.

So are there any mods on propeller that DON'T support Obama, or more importantly, support McCain?

I though Fox news was bad but....

Oblama's ideas on campaign reform DO NOT go far enough.

What is Lobbying?

â;; Lobbying includes all attempts to influence legislators and officials, whether by other legislators, constituents or organized groups.[1][2] Governments often define and regulate organized group lobbying.

We need to make organized group lobbying illegal via constitutional amendment...

â;; Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The first amendment says the right of the people to petition the government, NOT groups..

The next election is, and will be about what COULD be versus what WAS, for eight miserable, depleting (in every sense) years.

In that regard, there's really no choice, unless one wants more of the same, albeit in a tamped-down, less arrogant/bellicose version.

So let's stop looking at the word/notion of "change" under a microscope, shall we?

Those who want something different from what we've been wretchedly enduring, with its concomitant sense of personal and group power being sucked away, will vote Democratic in November.

poulenc - what will it be changed to?? a country with no income disparity - meaning we all have the same income???

avatar

Of course not! Working to reduce the obscene income disparity we have now is not calling for NO income disparity. Historically, the greater the distance between the 'haves' and the 'have nots', the greater the social and economic unrest.

'Trickle down' economics have been a complete disaster, with most of the nation's wealth concentrated in the upper 10% with precious little 'trickling down'. The middle class has been in steady decline, yes, during the Clinton years too.

the change is open ,honest goverment

thats what obama ran on in illinois and so far he hasnt disappointed me

the gas tax holiday is really a good example....mccain is pandering even tho all economic advisors say,it will actually raise the price of gas....obama tells us the truth even when its not the popular thing to do...just like he did when he spoke out against going to war in iraq before the rest the country woke up and realized what a huge mistake that has been

it is a day to celebrate!!

Obama won 31 states, but not one Battleground state, and since Hillary picked up Ohio, and Pennsylvania she has the popular vote. Remember when the Superdelegates wanted to vote for the candidate with the most popular vote? Now thet want the most Delegates, because they must choose the black guy. It is a set-up. He is popular with white liberal Democrats, and blacks, but he will lose the November election, and they know it. It will be 1972 all over again, and they can't do a thing about it. Rev Wright didn't bother Democrats cursing, and damning America, but that will bother other Americans. That and the fact Obama is a Liberal, gun grabber, and a man who voted against giving medical care to babies that survive Abortion. If the Mother wants a dead baby, he will see to it she gets a dead baby. I don't care if he's purple that murder.

So if Obama becomes president and nothing "changes" in America, will all of you remember today? Today is the day that people who know Obama will state for the record that he is not the solution, just more of the problem. Sometimes I hope he is elected, so that when he sticks it up all of the "change we can believe in" crowd's collective a$$es, maybe then, they will accept the hard fact that Obama is nothing more than any other politician. He says what you WANT to hear, not what he INTENDS to do...
