Iran's president, Amandeanabad (like I can spel:) supported Bush in 2004. It didn't seem to hurt him.

avatar
Reply

So did AQ throughout the last several years.

Bush is a simpleton who completely fell into their trap, whole heartedly, and he is fighting to make sure AQ has every opportunity to kill more GIs and contractors. AQ doesn`t like the Dems cause the Dems want a timed withdrawal. AQ said so, but the cons gave and give that a pass while pretending shock at something Hamas said.

Comments like that are to try to drive the middle to their side. Everybody does it.

The problem is that Hamas did make that statement.

~~~~~~~
SOOOO?
Obama's comment was NOT related to Hamas it was John McCain who has stood on his 'soap box' and said that he didn't like negative campaigning, and wouldn't DO any negative campaigning. Then when his SUPPORTERS started may comments INCLUDING state Republican Committees he says "I told them using very strong language that I didn't approve."
And then John McCain flip flops on HIMSELF by making this comment which is negative campaigning. So, IF John McCain was HEADING toward "No Negative Campaigning" it would APPEAR that he's "Off Course" or another words "has lost his barring".
avatar
Reply
By Wolf Blitzer and CNN continuing to play those comments over and over again trying to 'point these comments' toward McCain's age is NO different then Ann Colter CONSTANTLY referring to "Barack Hussein Obama" with the WHOLE intention of implying that Obama is a Muslim.
avatar
Reply
LOL
It is a negative campaigning because your wonderful saint was tared with the brush of his supporters. Ron Paul is supported by the KKK and Nazi groups. He never rejects their money or political aid. Did Obama say he rejected Hamas support? No, he did the typical liberal statement. He attacked the messenger.
If he had said bad things about Hamas the story dies. Instead he attacked McCain. The story lives a life of its own with negs being thrown back and forth.
avatar
Reply
Obama can't control who supports him anymore than he can control the words coming out of a Reverend's mouth.
Maybe he should just pre-emptively denounce every controversial groups support before the fact.
That would make for a funny press conference
I reject any unlooked for support or endorsement from everyone from Hamas to the unAmerican coach Bill Belichek, the sideline footage thief
avatar
Reply
He rejected Rev. Wright finally. It sou;d have been easy to just reject Hamas instead of attacking McCain.
avatar
Endo,
Did you care 1/10th this much when AQ endorsed Bush over his veto of the timed withdrawal from Iraq?
AQ stated they want the GIs to stay because if they left, AQ wouldn`t have any infidels around to kill.
McCain is continuing the Bush strategy, and will naturally inherit the AQ endorsement.
Oh yeah, which one, Hamas or AQ, attacked us thousands of times over the past eight years and has killed several thousand Americans?
The reverse logic of representing Obama or any candidate with what a terrorist organization believes is a loathsome smear similar to what McCarthy did during the 50's; guilt by the hearsay of others.
Hitler endorsed the Catholic and Protestant Church during the 3rd Reich; does that say something about the church or Hitler?
If anyone believes ths media is "still mostly liberal", then they must have an obstucted view from being so far down the line on the right wing that they can't see past Joe McCarthy.
Just the other day I heard a local sports radio host, Gerry Callahan, on WEEI in Boston say that Obama wants to help Hamas. Mind you these insane and inappropriate electioneering comments were sent out over the airwaves to millions of people. It has an effect. Over time the comments, especially without any rebuttal become accepted as truth.
That's the sad part about this whole thing. The lack of integrity that permeates msm makes it extremely difficult for the real issues to get aired. Our media only highlights the scum and the smut about personalities -- but the virtues of character and deed get lost in their pile of spin.
avatar
I agree Spadecaller. The MSM is so biased for liberals it is pathetic. The big three's ratings for news is in the tank and they just keep it up.
avatar
Reply
What is EQUALLY disturbing is that when someone hears that and turns around to tell someone else they will likely ADD or SUBTRACT one or more words from what was originally said.
One word or comma can COMPLETELY change the subject of a sentence.
Don't be shocked if by this time next week Obama is the HEAD of Hamas.
Although off topic, what do folks thing of the big Bush wedding this weekend?
Mother's Day roses are 50 bucks a dozen, gas is almost 4 bucks a gallon, people are losing their homes and we have to see the Bushes living it up, insulated from our daily struggles, like American royalty.
I mean to me it's like Marie Antoinette saying, 'let them eat cake.'
So true, and it's disgusting! But you know, they aren't even going whole hog because they KNOW how pis sed the American public is over the butchering of our economy by the Bush assassination (seems more like that than administration).
They are trying to downplay it somewhat, but the public is not fooled! Even their "low key" wedding is no doubt costing more than most of the middle class makes in yearly salary.
So I guess now the Bush children aren't allowed to fall in love and get married and live the American dream? You people are despicable. At least have some human decency and have the class to wish them well.
Ease up, Ag.
There have been quite a few whimsical comments mixed in with this thread. I don't believe anyone seriously objects to the Bush children falling in love and getting married.
Speaking of human decency, most people here wish them well. That is not the thrust of this dialogue and I think you are evading the real issues by focusing your critisms in that manner, imo. Your holier than thou attitude towards those of us who do not hold Bush or the GOP in high esteem should be tempered, if possible. The same is true of me towards you and your political ideologies.
Calm Down,AG...
''You people are despicable. At least have some human decency and have the class to wish them well.''
There's something about excess that is unseemly
But I do wish the Bush daughters well
Imagine having to interact with all those monstrous people with blood on their hands and pretend you don't know it
I feel bad for them
My dad's kind of a bad guy, but as far as I know he hasn't been a party to unprovoked mass murder
I, for one, do NOT think they deserve any such happiness and would never wish them well at all-ever. Not in a million years. It disgusts me how the few remaining cons who support Bush do not seem to have the slightest clue what hellish destruction the Bush and Cheney families have wrought on our country and our planet. I don't think these people have ANY right to be running around behaving as if life goes on, while millions upon millions worldwide are suffering as a DIRECT result of what the neocons, Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Delay, Hastert, Alito, Roberts, Scalia, Thomas and last (but certainly not least) the sleazy, trampy, disgusting, vapid and incomprehensibly ugly Katherine Harris (sweet Jesus, I hate that hideous trollop!) have done to our world over the last 8 years. None of them deserves a moment of peace or happiness for the rest of their miserable, oil thieving lives. Not one of them.
walden3, I thought of all people you would be above saying this sort of thing. You won't be seeing the wedding, it's private at their ranch in Texas, and I'm sure he's paying for it, you have proof otherwise, let's see it.
I have no problem with the 'twins' falling in love and getting married.
What I find most interesting, however, is that the bride doesn't, necessarily support McLame (per her CNN interview with Larry King).
For me, that says more then Caroline Kennedy or Julie Nixon supporting Obama.
Where do you live. I want to stay away from there. Its much cheaper where I live.
the wedding is none of our business.
It is none of our business if we keep changing channels and skipping those articles. The feel-good gossip wing of the MSM is promoting this as more celebrity hype carp.
Can`t be helped though, I know many people eat this stuff up.
I think they were very smart not to have it here in DC because it'd probably be heartbreaking for Jenna to watch her wedding video in the future --with the din of angry chanting protesters in the background drowning out the wedding toasts as part of the memory of her special day. ;-P
vidman,
You probably know what Senator Lieberman meant when he said that he can personally vouch for John McCain's bearings -- that he check them this morning.
Personally, I think it is quite kinky for Joe Lieberman to be checking his bearings, don't you?
Thanks, but I don't feel it is right either way. I don't think the kind of tactics that are being used by CNN would be fair if it were slanted towards Barack Obama either, if you get my drift.
Oh well really people. Read this article on Obama's North Carolina victory speech and tell me that he's being unfairly targeted. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/...
Thank you for sending us a link from Jack Kelly that wonderful Pulitzer Prize nominee who's downfall came in 2004 when it came out he had long been fabricating stories which scandal led to the resignations of two key staff members of USA Today. Here, don't take my word for it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Kelley
So, your disinformation on Obama's North Carolina speech proves he was unfairly targeted? LOL Try to find your way to the truth. Please.
Absolutely. You were right on target, Spade, and I have had enough of this type media propaganda. It used to be when I was a kid, you could go to the news and here unbiased reporting. I would watch the news coverage of both party conventions and could not really tell which candidate the news reporters favored, but today, it is totally different. The bias jumps out like a ravenous wolf ready to devour anyone or anything that might disagree with it, and to prove they are right, they garner more wolves to devour their prey. Sad day for America. I smell the winds of war.
