LIVE : from RED STATE Election Heaquarters

Politics – What these people see on tv, versus what they are really thinking are two very different viewpoints. The fact is that this country still cannot shake the Civil War. They are not RED states, they are STILL GREY states.

You're welcome. I'm still a rookie at this, but some things are worth taking a long time to figure out how to share..

These guys have a weekly website..

BoxMonkey thank you for saying what I was thinking. "Rednecks" live pretty much every where. I keep getting e-mails from family and friends about Obama being a Muslim. This is even after I sent them a reply countering it, with proof. Some people just don't/can't/want to hear the truth.

*******

Good submission MCC!

Me too CM, an old highschool friend is constantly sending me articles about what will happen if Obama is elected president. I just delete them, no talking to people like that. If Prop has taught me anything, it's that you can't change that mindset.

BoxMonkey:

LMAO hahahahahahahaaaahahaaaaha.

That stuff even goes on out here in the so called liberal state of CA. I've heard it at work from the truck drivers who come in.

One even had a sign on his truck asking if you'd vote for a Muslim for president.

I asked him who the Muslim running for president is. He looked at me like I was stupid and said Obama. I couldn't help myself. I started laughing at his stupidity. I said so his pastor The Reverend Wright is a Muslim? Why haven't they reportd that on all the news channels. Instead of knocking him for damning America.

That driver just looked at me like. Huh?????? I said well yeah with all the grief Obama has rec'd over Wright I'm pretty sure they would have nailed him for being a Muslim.

He just stood there stupid and confused. Scary, guys like that can drive a truck. LOL

Talk bout funny.

You libbies just dont get it. Thats whuts funny.

You just dont get that its our Mainstream Media that fosters this ignorance. Its all part of our plan to keep America scairt and stoopid.

Look at the local nightly news - a series of 'pop pop pop' stories bout 'this man was shot' - this kid died in a car wreack - this pediphile is missin.

Its story after story calculated to SCAIR ya! And finally ... the WEATHER man comes on and you think 'ahhh ... a story bout sunshine' ... but NOPE! The weather man is liek: "PLEASE STAY INSIDE! THIS WEATHER SYSTEM WILL BRING HEAVY RAINS THAT WILL FLATTEN YOUR HOUSES"!

And liek always .. its an 1/8' of rain over 3 hours.

This is how local news has been reported for 30 years and if anything ... they are workin the FEAR angle even more ... its all bout ratins.

And really, the national news aint really any differnt.

There aint hardly never no edjamacational stuff there. We got our Republican Media Folk workin up the poeple with every Fear Mongerin item we can imagine.

And remember, we Conservatives are the MASTERS of fear mongerin. We righties has used fear to beat back just about every idea that came down the piek.

Just look at how the NATIONAL media edjamacates us about the candidates.

"ITS BEEN REPORTED TODAY THAT BARACK OBAMA DOES NOT WEAR A FLAG PIN FOR EVERY OCCASION."

"Cokie, what do your sources in the Obama camp say bout him not wearin a flag pin?'

"Well Charlie, the Obama spokesman says he would prefer to talk bout his health care plan'.

"There you have it America ... the Obama camp is too elitist to talk to us bout wearin ... ... ... a flag pin'.

"NEXT UP ... What do squirrels REALLY think when they skitter scatter on the road ahead of you?"

There will always be those that believe the lies, half-truths, and innuendo that are spread by a few because they are just too damned lazy to go out and verify the facts. Fortunately their numbers seem to be small, at least from my observations, and showing them the truth is usually enough to correct their thinking.

Those that continue to spread the lies, half-truths, and innuendo, even when shown the real facts are, in my opinion, the lowest scum on the planet for they are doing so to spread a political ideology that has no place in this Nation.

Yeah, but it makes a great conversation piece when people need someone to blame for their frustration (which can be short term) versus misery (which is a lifelong assessment)..

The Republicans are great at stirring frustration while ignoring the misery, and democrats are great at discussing misery, which stirs frustration..THAT is why the Dems lose..No one wants to think long term..No one wants to pay to fix the bridge..they'd rather grieve over those who died in its tragic crumbling and the ensuing deaths, but not invest in the prevention of other such occurrences.

This is evident in W. Va. mine implosions, bridge collapses and floods..

Republicans are consoling undertakers and Democrats are insurance salesman. The south doesn't understand the value of insurance, and the north doesn't understand the importance of when to stop selling too much!

"There will always be those that believe the lies, half-truths, and innuendo that are spread by a few because they are just too damned lazy to go out and verify the facts."

Yeah, lies like: McCain said the Iraq War will last 100 years. Or: Global Warming is caused by man and will ruin the world.

Pity people don't take the time to learn the facts.

avatar
Reply

You are right.. What McCain really said (and I like the man, but disagree with him on this) is that "who knows how long we'll be fighting this war, but when it is over we might still need troops (as in Korea) there for many many years".

Bottom line: he has no idea how to stop the fighting or what it will take to have our troops out of harms way.

But, as the leader of the free world: it was not well stated and not very comforting...

So, would we rather find a way to leave and keep (and our valued soldiers) America safe soon, or would we just prefer to continue to hope that some revelation occurs, for which we have no control and no measuring stick yet we remain until too much damage is done, or we wake up one day and an

unprecedented, never in history, miracle that no one can define has occurred??

Is that an accurate, and honest, assessment of where we are now?

Yeah lip;or how about how Gore invented the net, or dingbat in Iran said to nuke Israel, or that there were wmds in Iraq, one of my favs though was by you the other day when you told me how USA bailed out the Commonwealth in WW!! because Japan attacked you, that had me in stitches, Lord you are hilarious when you try to sound smart....ROTFLMAO

avatar
Reply

Bailed out is a poor choice in terms, but its undeniable that without the United States World War 2 would of at least been far more difficult for the Allied powers to win. Hitler made a strategic blunder- he could of gone to war with either the USSR and Britain, or the United States and possibly another country and won. He couldn't of taken them all on at once... maybe he just didn't understand his own agreement with Japan before he declared war on the United States or he really thought he could fight a super power (its arguable, but I'd say at the time it could be said the United State's was at least an emerging super power) and the other Allies at once. I suppose he thought that Japan would occupy the United States for awhile... anyway, my whole point of this is that if you remove any of the main players on the Allied side from WW2, the outcome becomes completely different. No saving occurred, really. And no fault lies with the US for waiting to go to war.

avatar
Reply

Also the actual arrogance of World War 2 and being "saved" is partly (or perhaps even fully) because of the harsh reparations required of Germany after World War 1 by France and Britain. Its arguable that if these reparations were not acquired then World War 2 would have been never fought and I believe that Wilson opposed these reparations. It would sort of be like if the United States were attacked by a rebuilt country that we had went to war with and demanded massive reparations, ruined the economy of (creating fertile grounds for fascism), was unable to claim a moral high ground (IMO no "good guys" existed in WW1 at all) regarding the war that did this and then this nation rebuilt itself as a more powerful entity then the United States and attacked it. Eventually Europe is dragged into the global war that would ensue and would feel like it "saved" the US... or so that's what I've always felt the US attitude towards WW2 was.

avatar
Reply

Now the above post isn't really to condone the attitude of people who feel a bail out occurred. Its more to just point out its a bit more complex then the macho flexing of muscles that most non-Americans (in the national as opposed to continental sense) seem to feel it is. I really don't believe any saving happened and if it did, why, the situation the United States will put itself in one day following its current policy may eerily mirror that of Europe prior to WW2 and the above scenario may very well happen.

avatar
Reply

Forgot to add that Europe is opposed to the harsh reparations and things such as this regarding the unnamed country that attacks the United States in the above hypothetical situation.

My point was that lips always bad mouths Canada and his statement was that USA bailed out the Commomwealth because Japan attacked USA. Brilliant comment, and your analysis above is quite correct except when it is about Russia, On D-Day, the Russian army had pushed the Germans back to the Polish border, yes USA did supply them in 42-43 when they needed it but it was totally a Russian Army that pushed them back, and defeated them

Japan was taunted. Roosevelt was brilliant in how to get a traditionally non-interventionist nation into a war that had popular support, something that seems to have been lost on leaders after him (excluding getting into wars, they do that wonderfully). Oh well, I've noticed the insults of Canada as well. That isn't right, especially considering the way the world is headed nowadays and Canada is the closest ally of the United States along with the UK. Also our biggest supplier of oil. Though I think most of our syrup still comes from here!

avatar

Canada also supplies the US with far more oil than any other single nation.

Too funny, and ironic that there are real people out there that actually think this way!

avatar
Reply

They're actors N2N :P I don't think people actually act that way so blatantly really, but it is a bit of a mind-set. My own mother looks at Hillary Clinton and says "You can't trust anything that woman says". She rather likes Barack Obama though, so at least it isn't a partisan dislike (despite her voting for Bush in 2000). Living around here I do see some fools who display the Confederate flag and I just think to myself "Don't they even know we were in the Union?". Its sad and funny at the same time and if you ask them, they always vote for the party that opposed there dear South during the Civil War. Now its not a common mind-set in the South and I'm not South bashing. The North has its equivalents...

avatar
Reply

Of course there are hundreds of thousands who act and think that way. The Republicans know how to get them to vote!

avatar
Reply

There are just as many idiots in the north. Idiocy is not a regional phenomenon.

Expatriate Americans, at least in my experience, are overwhelmingly Democrat. The few I know who still profess "faith" in president Bush and are avowedly pro-McCain tend to parrot the national security line "You don't change administrations in times of war -- stay with the Republicans" and then trail off into silence. It seems more like a gut-held belief rather than a reasoned policy stance.

Oh, I laughed at this. I really, really did. I see people who act like this at least once a month and my state was even blue during the Civil War, if red now. I always chuckle when I see bumper stickers saying the South will rise again... luckily, its a minority from what I've noticed and the North does have its equivalents.
