Thanks n2n.

I get a sense that we are on the verge of a new direction for our nation ... the alternative is 4 more years of abysmal failure, secrecy, and Constitutional dismemberment ... and activist judges who do not respect precedent.

My comment disappeared, but i thought that was a great speech.

I hope you're right Goppy, personally, i think Obama is getting more of the "middle class" white votes than he is getting credit for.

avatar

color me white, middle class, independent thinker, small town, and bitter about the direction our country has taken especially the last seven years.

In other words, a proud and excited Obama supporter who would also choose Hillary or Ron Paul over McCain any day of the year.

I will give him credit for being a speaker. To bad you couldn't have went n2n.I think I mentioned I went to a Hillary rally and they're exciting no matter who your for.

That place was so packed, I would have to had been there hours prior to the speech in order to get a decent parking space and seat. Plus i don't like crowds, so i am content to watch him on tv and youtube!

Thanks rdy!

avatar
Reply

Yeah it was real bad when I went. I hate crowds but wanted to say "I did it once" and I sure can understand the security.

This country sure doesn't need any shootings now.

When i was a little girl, 9 or 10 years old, my Mother took us to see Truman, he was in our little town of about 5,000 people. He wasn't the president anymore, but we thought that was such a treat. Right up there with getting to see Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs live at the drive in. LOL!!

avatar
Reply

Cool. And you got to see Flatt and Scruggs. I'm jealous. They was some cool Beverly Hillbillies.LOL

I still love Bluegrass Music, reminds me of my Dad!

Then maybe you remember waking up to Grandpa Jones at 5 A M singing 8 More Miles To Louisville on WHAS?

avatar
Reply

I have that on a CD, and watch it on youtube sometimes even today ani! Maybe that's one thing we can agree on.

I didn't live in Lou when i was a kid, but we had country stations much like WHAS!

This exerpt from that link, why is this continually being said?

'Nearly one in four of all ballots were cast by voters 60 and older, and a similar number by West Virginians with no education beyond high school. More than half the voters were in families with incomes of $50,000 or less. Clinton has done particularly well in primaries to date among older, less well-educated and lower-income families.'

They're trying to discredit Hillary's win. ; )

That could be, but the whole article doesn't read that way. However there have been many such statements in several articles on her lately.

There was a good NPR report about West Virginia the last time it was a key player in a presidential nomination; when JFK was trying to convince the country that a Catholic could be elected.

The 1960's reporting was all interviews with hillbillies and rednecks, as though that were the 'flavor' of West Virginia.

In the end it seems to have made the state kinda angry, and they gave JFK the victory he needed.

I think it was a WONDERFUL speech. It looks like Obama is REALLY getting his groove

A segment of the population is still enthralled by Obama's syrupy dialogue. To those, his astonishing loss in West Virginia 72% to 28% means nothing. A similar defeat in Kentucky and he'll loose Appalachia by 400,000 votes & Oregon is looking less & less Obama wants it to look like. Even on the Obama channel MSNBC last night in a preview of upcoming primaries a reporter from Puerta Rico stated that 2,300,000 PR's intend to vote there on June 3rd, with 70% of them Clinto Supporters. Figure it out, that means Clinton 1,600,000 Obama 700,000. The 400,000 from the Mountain states 900,000 from PR is by far enough to give Clinton the popular vote lead.

Don't worry though loyal Obama supporters, he doesn't need the white vote, the catholic vote, the latino vote, the asian vote in fact according to you all, he doesn't need any votes you'll annoint him the nomination. Good job!

avatar
Reply

That said, DO THE MATH!

avatar
Reply

Oh btw, an annointment would be better than a supreme court appointment anyday, at least it would be what the people wants as opposed to what a elite few wants.

avatar

Lum, I wonder why you characterize the loss as 'astonishing'. All the analysts, pundits, talking heads, etc. were predicting a huge win for Clinton in WV. As she herself is fond of pointing out: poor white folk are her bread-and-butter constituency.

Good speech. He is so down to Earth.

avatar
Reply

How anyone can call him an elitist is beyond me. Humble beginnings that he's completely unashamed of, unlike Hillary and McCain.

avatar
Reply

"How anyone can call him an elitist is beyond me."

It's easy, I just listen to him speak.

avatar

yes all the elites moms needed to use food stamps

mccain getting off his wifes private jet has no room to talk

avatar
Reply

Their mindset is astounding, Obama "talks" like an elitist, even though he admits that his mother was on food stamps. All the while McCain flies around in his wifes private jet! lol

avatar
Reply

What does McCain have to do with it? We were talking about Obama. Try to stay focused, I know it must be hard with the meds and all.

avatar
Reply

What meds? Why the personal attack? You are very abrasive and belligerent.

Furthermore, i will say what i please about McCain, you jackass! Isn't it just the way of you simple minded jerks to attempt to take all the attention off your own elitist candidate?

For the record, i'm not on meds but i think you need to be on some. Thorazine comes to mind, but you would probably have to wrangle them out of Cindy McCains hands first.

What DaneL!! No smart retort, just a random neg? lol, you are one of the biggest jokes on Prop!

"No smart retort, just a random neg?"

That's all you have been doing to me, can't handle it? It doesn't bother me when I consider the source.

avatar
Reply

Your negs are like a positive to me DaneL, it means you either didn't bother to read my post or you can't stand the truth. Either way, it's your loss, and you're still a joke!

And you remain irrelevant.

still beating the odds makers.

Interesting side note. 65% 28% = 93%. Edwards is getting 7% of the vote. He may add a delegate or two if he polls strong enough in certain precincts.

avatar
Reply

Ron Paul got 107 out of 114 delegates in my area. Hope his supporters tear the elitists in the establishment a new one come convention time!

Obama the man for all people!

I agree!

Not the Obama that I know.

Obama is an Un-American racist/terrorist loving socialist.

He doesn't fool me a bit.

All you racists that are kissing his behind will have your hearts broken when the fat lady sings.

Hillary kicked his behind today, and McCain will do it in November when HIS chickens come home to roost.

Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

Obama's speeches and actions are all about bridging the racial divide that still splits America. Your posts are about strapping dynamite to that bridge.

I think we all know who the racist is.

automan, i wasn't aware that you KNEW Obama personally. However i think that anyone who says what you just did, should KNOW what they are talking about..I doubt that you do.

Automan is an idiot. His love for McCain blinds him..

> Not the Obama that I know.

Since you don`t know Obama from shinola, thanks for admitting where you are coming from before being an abrasive racist.

> He doesn't fool me a bit.

Obviously, you`re miles ahead of him on that.

When you get over yourself and your racism, you and the nation will be better off, and you`ll be just as bitter and racist that a better life wasn`t handed to you.

WOW! You really have to watch the video before commenting. That's how Obama can reach out to working class voters. Tell his working class story. What an uplifting speech.

avatar

It would be nice to have a president who wasn't raised with a silver spoon in his/her mouth and who will attempt to move this country away from the corporate dictators. We better hope he does not get shot in the process.

Thanks n2n for submittling this.

I like Obama

How do the Kentucky polls look for Sen Obama? He can't overcome another huge loss like the one in W Virginia. I think Hillary will win, because of Obama's S F speech where he looked down hia nose on Middle Class voters who cling to their guns, and God, but I cannot see it being by another 44% loss.

avatar
Reply

Obama has the nomination.

His numbers did not change any because of West Virginia; nor would they for a loss in Kentucky.

avatar

I think Obama is more popular in Ky than people realize. I could be wrong, but just about everyone i talk to thinks highly of him, even many of my republican family and friends.
