John McCain's ties with Washington lobbyists are not among serious challenges for his campaign- not with the shape of the U.S. economy and public opinion still shifting away from his steadfast support for indefinite military commitments in Iraq. But influence peddling will be difficult for McCain to explain to voters as well.

This is only one of many troubling influence peddling incidents in McCain's record. Another recent cause for concern is his right-hand man/lobbyist ties to the Putin-backed political party. A consultant to Sen. John McCain hired a public-relations firm last year to pump up the Ukrainian political party backed by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, according to documents filed with the Justice Department. The lobbying firm of Davis Manafort Inc. arranged for the public-relations firm's work through an affiliate last spring, at the same time Davis Manafort was being paid by the Republican presidential candidate's campaign. The firm is co-owned by lobbyist Rick Davis, manager of Sen. McCain's presidential campaign, and longtime Republican strategist Paul Manafort.

McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers said Mr. Davis receives no income from Davis Manafort, although he is a co- owner of the firm.

RFE, the U.S. elected Bush I. Many people still don't realize he once was the U.S. CIA Director. McCain is dependent on the Bush family for their support and that of their friends. A potentially close relationship with ex-KGB Putin doesn't surprise me at all.

When you look at the damage caused to the middle class and America by the lobbyist supported junta in there now, why would we want more ofr the same? Other then the AG group who seem to think what radio station Obama listens to is crucial to their voting decision, why elkectr the lobbyists for anohter 4 years? Enough is enough

McCain appears to have been Bush-Whacked. He is easy prey for the lobbyists and religious right, as he has sold out whatever convictions that he may have once had in order to gain power. I believe and hope that enough of the American people will see that he is just another puppet of the corporate dictators like Bush and Cheney.

Straight Talk my "s". It must be hard to resist the perks and profits "playing ball" with lobbyists and narrow special interests can bring. The culture of corruption is so deeply infecting national policy, that finding someone that isn't dirty is nearly impossible. We must reject all politicians who blatantly subvert public interest for personal gain. What makes McCain's pandering particularly insidious is he pretends to be the "straight talk" maverick, opposed to his own tactics.

McCain has a lot of skeletons that is unshakable, but right now his connections to lobbyists is the front runner. In the general, a lot of his skeletons need to be brought to light!

It's time to put an end to this type of politics. I think that the more McCain talks the more he will sink himself. Yesterday he was acknowledging global climate change, that must sit well with his core constituents.

tchef, "It's time to put an end to this type of politics", you had better start looking for someone other than the three remaining candidates then. All three of them are nothing but politicians and will say and do almost anything to get your vote.

Obama has lobbyists in his camp as well. So does Hillary. In fact there is not one politician that doesn't know a few friendly lobbyists. Ask Barak about the $200,000. dollars from Exelon, just before he sponcered friendly legislation that made them very happy.

Like comparing a puddle to the Pacific Ocean. Obama is primarily financed by individuals giving 50 bucks, small but very numerous donations.

There are a lot of things McCain can't shake. Worst of them is John McCain. This year's presidential debates can be carried out on YouTube with just one candidate speaking. McCain vs. McCain.

McCain against the Bush tax cuts versus McCain for the Bush Tax cuts.

McCain against torture versus McCain for torture.

McCain for talking to Hamas versus McCain against talking to Hamas.

Google the topics to view both McCains, then pick the McCain you support for the fall election... and pray that's the one you get.

What Republican or Democrat can escape? They are all guilty of lobbyist. Can they not take the lobbyist money? I kinda of doubt it. Those Superdelegates are lobbyist.

Most superdelgates are politicians or active participants in Democratic Party organizations.
