Republican John McCain has rejected the endorsement of an influential Texas televangelist criticized for his anti-Catholic and homophobic views. John Hagee, the Texas preacher, withdrew his endorsement at the same time. McCain issued a statement after audio surfaced in which Hagee said God sent Adolf Hitler to help Jews reach the promised land.

Hagee is pond scum. If there were a way to describe someone as worse than pond scum, I would like to hear it. Hagee's words are beyond the fray, and McCain should be a better judge of the company he keeps. With people like Hagee even thinking of endorsing the Republicans, the Democrats should have the election all wrapped up.

Hagee is only pond scum in the secular, egalitarian world of the US melting pot. In his church, he makes sense. That's why we have separation of church and state: what makes sense in one church, may be blasphemy in another.

Good Lord! After McCain begged Hagee for his endorsement for months, now he is denouncing Hagee.

Yet again, he was against Hagee, then for him and now against him again.. And the neocons think he's the man to lead our country.

        OMG FLIP FLOP! OH NOES!

(Actually, I'm shocked that he did this. The wingnut vote is going to go nuts about it.)

Actually, we conservatives don't like either of the three Democrats running for office. And we absolutely dislike the RINO in the bunch.

Now who was it that complained John McCain flip flops. Why it was just a few weeks back that McCain was thrilled to have his endorsement and that his reported comments had been taken out of context. And now McCain says "Obviously, I find these remarks and others deeply offensive and indefensible, and I repudiate them. I did not know of them before Rev. Hagee's endorsement, and I feel I must reject his endorsement as well."

Where's the flip flop in that.

Something to be said for McCain's research. I trust that he would research pre emptive strikes into Iran with the same rigor.

Why does anyone pay any attention to this man? In the UK he would be ignored.
