FTA:
"Senator Clinton and Senator Obama met tonight and had a productive discussion about the important work that needs to be done to suceed in November," their campaigns said in joint statement.
The statement included no details of their talks, as pressure mounted for Obama to invite Clinton to become his running mate.
Robert Gibbs, an Obama spokesman, would not say where the former rivals met, except that it was not at Clinton's home in Washington, as had been widely reported.
I think Hillary has acted the ass, but her supporters would not lean toward McCain if she were his running mate. It's a lot to think about.

I hope the VP decision gets put off til the convention. It may be tempting to put the Clinton name on the ticket for extra votes, but after the election, could she play the supportive roll a VP needs to play? I think not. Any feminist who can't understand that McCain will appoint anti Roe v Wade people to the Supreme Court is no feminist at all. I understand the emotional investment, but reality is reality. Obama will not likely win over the racist segment of voters no matter who he picks, and if lower income working people honestly think Republicans have acted in their interest, then they should vote republican, if not they should vote for Obama. I think he can make the case himself, and it is erroneous to think because Pa. (for instance) chose Clinton in a match up with Obama that they would also choose McCain in a match up against Obama.

Or maybe this is the "change" that Obama was promising to everyone... where he turns into the same-old same-old.
Why did they meet at Finkstink's house, instead of with Monty Hall?

I loved the way they both set this up to keep the clamoring press out of reach for a private moment. Well done on both sides.

I think Hillary as the VP is a bad move. To many things have happened and been said. A.G. maybe.
I know I keep saying it. But Wesley Clark makes the most sense to me. He has what Obama lacks, international experience and a strong military background. I think he would be acceptable to most working class people, as well as those with higher than average incomes.
Whom ever he chooses I just hope it is not Hillary.

A.G. maybe.>>>>John Edwards
I agree that Clinton would be a bad move. The fact that the Repubs WANTED to run against Clinton (because of her 'baggage') says A LOT.
As for Clark-he certain would be an asset, but by most accounts he's NOT a politician so he doesn't 'campaign' well.
My vote goes to Richardson or Hagel.

That is my point exactly. He is not a politician. You are not getting the same old thing. That is what we need to turn this country around. The politicians have screwed us for so long.
I say go for it Obama/Clark.
Change, he can say he is changing by not having the ususal suspects.
What an opportunity to really change.

On "the short list":
(1)Sacha Baron Cohen for both the Jewish vote and anti-Semites...
OR
(2)Carlos Mencia for the Mexican vote, Latinos, and guest workers.

The problem of running as Obama's VP is the risk to ones political future. If the Obama/whoever ticket loses, who will get the blame. 'Teflon' Obama or the person in the VP slot? Being McCain's running mate would have less because everyone likes to blame John.

How do you know nothing is secret, when by definition we wouldn't know about it, being secret?
And FDR's fireside chats were on the radio, and listened to by millions of sneaky eavsdroppers.

When Bush and Cheney have a "private meeting," we never even hear about it. When Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have a private meeting, right-wingers are up-in arms? Golly, why guys? Are you finally admitting that Bush and Cheney might have been planning nefarious deeds, during those "mano-a-mano" thingies? You really think that if Democrats had thought of it first, they would be just as nasty? Holy horse puddles! Did it ever occur to your wise-ass that -- just like this "pre" invasion, based soley upon what they might do, Bush and Cheney pulled your pants down around your ankles and cleaned your rifle-barrel?
Well, get in line: right now the United States' word is garbage! Democrats did this? Forgive my saying this, but in my opinion you are losers looking for a way to blame ANYONE ELSE for this; Suck it up, Republicans! you ain't seen nothing yet...
Airborne all the way...
