We gave a lecture in 1969, that the Election yar of 2008 would be a racist driven scene. The Latin versus the Black vote will ultimately determine the election.

I know that most Hispanics do not like Obama but will probably give Obama the advantage if Hillary comes out strong for Obama.

so msnbc has lit the the fires of racism. There were several ways they could have approached this without making it worse than it is.

It was a UP release, not MSNBC's own story. After hearing part of an Obama speech about what the "opposition" will do, I have to wonder if this was a press release.

So it is news that BHO is bracing for something that hasn't happened. Sounds like the Democrats are going to send out information surreptitiously, making it look like it is Republican.

"Kathleen Hall Jamieson, an authority on political communications at the University of Pennsylvania, said overt racial references are risky. But more subtle ads might stir doubts in voters' minds that could lead, in part, to racially tinged subjects, she said."

In other words, in order to beat Obama they will have to rely upon "more subtle" forms of racism to scare voters away from Obama. Says a lot for their confidence with McCain's platform, doesn't it?

I am optimistic that the McCain campaign team will keep it very clean. They have to...any direct or indirect racial attack on their part would mean certain defeat in the fall. I am not so confident that the RNC and the state chapters of the Republican Party will manage to be as clean especially based on what we have seen thus far.

McCain also needs to be very concerned about a number of the right wing radio hosts and TV pundits across this country that have a history of making racially charged or insensitive comments in the past. Missteps from this very loud group can actually trickle down and have a opposite effect thus hurting McCain and the GOP more than it does Obama.

There will be swiftboating during the presidential campaign; it's inevitable. And McLame will benefit from them. He'll condemn them but won't do anything to stop them, so Obama will be smeared, and he'll look as if he took the high road. Obama should go on the offensive when the swiftboating starts and keep exposing the lies and bigotry of those that support McLame. And maybe a backlash will rise and smite them, once and for all.
