Despite this, McCain has made political payoffs to pharmaceutical companies that endanger other Americans. If McCain cannot grapple with the causes of his own mortal wounds - and seek to publicly confront them - how can he be trusted to protect us?

Attacking McCain is fine, but don't waste my time with a sophomoric article that cannot even follow its own thesis. You rail against McCain for saying that the Gitmo decision is worse than Dred Scott. Repeat your quote from McCain: "one of the worst decisions in the history of this country." ONE OF - ONE OF - ONE OF - ONE OF. Get it? McCain never said the Gitmo decision was THE worst decision, by your own admission. The premise of your entire article is therefore, pointless. At least we know what authors to take seriously and who to ignore.
