Safe to say Al Qaeda was defeated in Iraq, which liberals and Democrats like Obama, Reid and Pelosi said was not possible a year ago.

Every time they tangle with NATO troops in Afghanistan, they get creamed. Al Qaeda merely is recruiting more lambs to the slaughter.

And if you think this is advocating defeat, then there would be no way I would allow my son to go to Afgan, but you say you are a history buff?

Well fighting a war on two fronts was never good strategy, and USA strategy is being directed by draft dodgers only they stayed in USA due to connections and deferments.

And this is your way of thinking?

It is not flip floping to change your mind, nor is it cowardice or defeatism.
